**What does a great Systems Engineer II do?**

This individual applies advanced knowledge of design and engineering principals and concepts to design key component(s) for the Travelport Commercial Data Center Networks

**Key Responsabilities**:

- Develops detailed scripts and provides real-time support for the activities to implement network changes and associated components.
- Implementation and configuration of VPN, dedicated circuits, MPLS and other WAN connections in a large, multi-datacenter and public Cloud operation
- Advanced understanding, configuration and implementation of data center switching and routing, server load balancing, VLAN, VXLAN, IP addressing and public cloud (Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services) network configurations
- Based on system parameters and historic data perform troubleshooting and analysis to determine ways to improve a network’s reliability, scalability, and performance.
- Work with senior engineers to design and implement solutions.
- Maintaining and upgrading existing network solutions.

**Education, Training, Skills, Experience, Knowledge**:

- 4-year degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or combination of experience and education - Office 365, Azure, AWS, Powershell or other scripting languages
- Experience in engineering, deploying, or supporting commercial, corporate, customer facing solutions
- Possess adequate knowledge in at least one of the services /products and adjacent systems
- Can complete assignments quickly. - Ideally has held positions in multiple engineering areas during career, demonstrating well rounded command of other technology disciplines.
- In depth experience in TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, DWDM, SDN technologies including reliable trouble shooting techniques
- Experience deploying networks and network configurations across multiple data centers and cloud technologies is also a must. Experience in server virtualization, workflow orchestration, load balancing and network security principles and disaster recovery is a plus.
- Knowledge of Network architecture, design and implementation is a plus. - Strong Networking discipline in the following: Layer 1-7, Routing protocols, BGP/BFD, OSPF, Load balancing, Equal cost routing, MPLS, Packet capture and flow analysis, and Network monitoring.
