Makerspace Operator

Company dedicated to the creation of makerspaces (educational space focused on STEAM teaching) is looking for:
**MAKERSPACE OPERATOR**
- **WHAT WE´RE LOOKING FOR**_
- Bachelo´s degree in Industrial Design or Mechatronics
- Experiment in teaching, handling and maintenance of machines ( 3D printers, Laser Cutter, Sawing Machines, Band Saw, etc.)
- English speaker
- Living in Monterrey or planning moving there

**_EXPERIENCE / SKILLS_**
- Experience installing and troubleshooting software and hardware, including 3D printers
- Strong communication skills that accommodate a diverse population of users and learners
- Passion and knowledge about the use of technologies to support creative, engaged learning
- Sound organizational skills and an ability to recognize and change work priorities in a timely fashion
- An experienced practitioner and mentor in the making processes
- Exposure to basic programming and one board computers such as Arduinos, raspberry pi, etc; or ability and interest to learn
- Comfortable with a hands on approach, particularly an ability to improvise with audiences of varied ages, the use of hand tools, electronics, computer software, hardware and various other technologies
- Interest and abilities in physical computing, open source hardware and software, video and audio production, and desktop fabrication

**_KEY RESPONSIBILITIES_**
- Maintain a creative, safe, and fun work environment for students in the Makerspace.
- Update, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment.
- Teach both basic safety measurements and training covering all of the Makerspace equipment.
- Schedule classes, events, and appointments for the Makerscace and Makerspace Jr; and update the calendar.
- Track and inventory purchase of new consumables.
- Document and keep record of the activities held at the Makerspace and monitor space usage numbers
- Provide formal and informal Makerspace assistance for students and teachers.
- Participate in lesson planning meetings with teachers that request assistance.
- Research, develop, and prototype innovative maker activities and maintain all makerspace materials, tools, and equipment including hardware and software.
- Effectively communicate with many ages, abilities and dispositions.
- Assists with technology-related projects (ICT), as directed.

**_WHAT WE OFFER_**
- $23,000 to $27,000 (according to aptitudes)
- Workday: Monday to Friday 7:30 to 15:00 hrs
