Automation Engineer
**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS**:
- **Experience in Exterior Automotive plastic parts**:
- Strong communication skills English and Spanish.
- Written and verbal communication skills and experience preparing proposals and delivering presentations, technical designs, machine specifications, drawings, RFQ’s, cost estimates.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety, Environmental regulations and machine safeguarding & Safety code standards, CSA, OSHA in Canada and USA.
- Primarily advanced knowledge of PLC Software using Allen Bradley, OMRON and HMI programing.
- Experience in controls, industrial sensors and instrumentation, PLC programming, and vision systems Keyence, Cognex.
- Knowledge of robotics Motoman, ABB, Fanuc, teaching, programming, communication and integration into manufacturing cells.
- Experience in pneumatic systems FESTO, SMC.
- Experience in electrical motors with frequency drivers, step and servo drives one, two an three axis, LVDT programing.
- CAD Drafting software experience 2D & 3D in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, NX, Catia and Spinfire.
- Knowledge in Ultrasonics welding plastic process and poke yoke machine verifications using sensors or vision systems.
- Traveling may be required within Mexico, USA and Canada.
**Responsibilities**
- Support ABC Plants with technical support on secondaries equipment at program development and launch.
- Assist and troubleshot stand alone fixtures such as poke yoke verification, robotic cells and plastic welding machines.
- Proficient with project and service documentation. Including technical notes, details on projects and service work performed.
- Configuring, implementation and troubleshooting PLC software/hardware and programs (Ladder, Structured Text, Function Blocks)
- Developing and troubleshooting PLC Code and following existing code standards
- Teach and troubleshoot Vision Systems Keyence, Cognex, OMRON assist with programing, set up and reprograming as required.
- Work with suppliers in Developing PLC, HMI machine interfaces.
- Develop and Implement ABC best practices and lesson learns on new programs.
- Take lead on fixture standardization, spare part list inventory reduction for all ABC Plants.
**Qualifications**
- You have an Electrical, Mechatronics, Engineering or related Degree, Engineering Technology Diploma or equivalent
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Highly motivated team player
- Must have 3 to 5 years of experience in an automotive industry.
- Written and verbal communication skills and experience preparing proposals and delivering presentations.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
**Salary**: $13,470.71 - $50,000.00 per month
