The Groups and Convention Coordinator is highly visible and the central point for handling and addressing special needs or requests. It requires detailed knowledge of the hotel meeting facilities, group dynamics, and event details.
**Groups and Conventions Coordinator Job Specifications**:
- Strong understanding of client programs and events
- Perform Meeting Room Inspections, Cleanliness and Maintenance walkthroughs
- Monitor Customer Personal and Practical Needs, anticipating their needs and making sure that they are satisfied throughout the entire day
- Immediate Response is Key
- Provide added services to repeat customers who may have hinted to something previously.
- Provide feedback to other departments involved in planning and organizing the function
- Meet and Greet Site inspections and attend necessary hotel planning meetings
- Service Recovery (turn a negative experience into a positive experience before the guest departs the hotel)
- Special projects when scheduling allows
**Qualifications**:
- A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced environment
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Organized
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include early mornings, weekends and potential holidays
- A fun and energized person and quick to make personalize connections
- Committed to delivering a high level of customer service and to remain calm under pressure
- Must be proficient in general computer knowledge
- Must speak Spanish and English
