We are hiring a
**Supplier Development Engineer** (Tenneco Global Services) based in
**Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua**. In this position you will be responsible for the strategic supply base development to improve Tenneco's supply base, including on-site supplier contact, maintaining and improving procedures and process design. Drives quality and productivity improvements at existing suppliers. Assesses new potential suppliers and works with new technology and new product launches, and deploys standardized supplier quality management systems.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Implements the global purchasing supplier development strategies, establishes policies / procedures and initiatives to help improve the global supply base.
- Supports teams to identify new suppliers in alignment with Tenneco requirements.
- Actively participates in sourcing decision-making reviews with Sourcing teams.
- Stays abreast with new and emerging technologies and applies knowledge of international business climate to help source suppliers in global markets.
- Supports cross-functional launch teams by design / risk evaluations and technical supplier review meetings to assure form, fit and function of product / assembly design intent.
- Supports on-site supplier development to help suppliers improve their processes and achieve productivity and quality performance goals.
- Utilizes standard supplier assessment evaluation tools. Conducts supplier assessments and evaluations. Follows-up on improvements as required.
- Tracks and monitors supplier quality performance - supports BOS measurable.
- Conducts supplier audits when required to improve Tenneco’s supply base in order to drive quality and productivity improvement at existing suppliers.
- Support major internal and new customer projects initiated by Tenneco globally.
- Supports Tenneco plants and businesses on major supplier quality, deliver and cost issues.
- Facilitates timely implementation of permanent corrective action and resolution for supplier related issues.
- Follows-up / monitors the APQP timeline and deliverables from kick-off through successful launch containment for assigned suppliers / projects.

- Implements the global purchasing supplier development strategies.
- Teach suppliers on various problem solving methodology (8D, 5Whys, is is-not, etc.).
- Prepares and presents supplier performance data to management level.
- What will make you successful?
- Bachelor's Degree in related business or technical discipline required; Master's Degree preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in quality, preferably in automotive manufacturing.
- Related Business or Technical discipline experience (e.g., steel, stamping, forging, machining, casting, cold heading, rubber, plastic, heat treating, motors, pumps, sensors, PCB, filters, pressure sensors, Heater blankets, controllers, pump & motor assemblies, and electromechanical products).
- Experience with assessment and audits, TS and / or ISO audit certification desired.
- APQP, PRMEA, Quality statistic, Control Plan & Error proofing process training and practical experience required
- Knowledge of electromechanical manufacturing product and processes a plus
- Understand the process and tools of effective problem solving and able to lead an improvement team.
- Trained Six Sigma Green Belt a plus.
