**Press Department Supervisor**

Responsible for the leadership, direction, and motivation of press area employees to achieve company goals of safety, quality, production, and continuous improvement.

**Major Job Functions**:

- Responsible to maintain the highest standards of safety and 5S.
- Develops and executes plans to meet or exceed department and company goals of safety, quality, productivity, and cost efficiency.
- Manages department performance measures and visual controls. Focuses on daily operations.
- Identifies, analyzes, and acts to correct bottlenecks, product defect rates, safety hazards, tool and equipment problems.
- Councils, motivates, and instructs Lead and/or Set Up personnel in quality standards, machine operations, and critical documentation. Provides on-the-floor training to new employees as needed and works closely with the floor Leads and/or Set Up employees.
- Ensures that employees adhere to schedules and customer service requirements. Works in conjunction with of Quality Assurance to make sure high-quality products are produced as specified.
- Informs Department Manager of potential cause for customer concern.
- Ensures proper inventory levels are maintained to meet daily production and/or assembly needs.
- Manages department staff to ensure best practices are being followed; responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees, coaching and developing talent, addressing issues and resolving problems. Responsible for the lifecycle of Press Department employees.
- Studies blueprints of products, die and die models, templates, and prototype parts and visualizes shape, mechanical structure, and operation of die.
- Develops and coordinates build schedule to meet established timelines.

**Requirements**:

- 3 to 5 years of progressively responsible experience in a manufacturing environment (in a press department preferred).
- Skills in Word, Spreadsheets and Inventory and Manufacture Software.
- Business English.
