This new role will be working in **Monterrey, Mexico.**

We’re looking for a **Strategic Sourcing - Casegoods **who has experience in sourcing, product development, vendor management and furniture experience. In this new role you will be evaluating vendor capabilities, competitiveness, implementing new products and following up key metrics as we grow our vendor base in North America to take advantage of shorter lead times, skilled labor and USMCA trade agreements.
**What you’ll do**:

- Identify and evaluate potential vendors who are well aligned with Article expectations
- Manage vendor performance, development and the overall relationship
- Set and implement vendor goals related to quality, price, capacity and process efficiency
- Visit vendors, conduct factory audits, in-line, pre and post-shipment inspection
- Utilize project management software to onboard vendors, follow up on various tasks and product developments, ensuring stakeholders are informed
- Evaluate and implement new materials, product samples and design or quality improvements on new and existing products
- Negotiate raw material and finished product prices as needed
- Partner with Quality Assurance, Product Development and Planning teams to assure timely response and resolution of vendor tasks
- Coordinate material and product testing at vendors and third-party laboratories
- Collaborate with multiple departments to define, improve and implement various requirements and processes

**Skills, Knowledge and Expertise**:

- Bachelors or other post-secondary certification in a related field
- Currently residing in Monterrey, Mexico
- Experience in a Sourcing, Engineering and Quality role within the furniture industry
- Ability to identify structural concerns and value engineer the products.
- Technical knowledge of case goods or upholstered furniture, compliance and lean manufacturing
- Ability to work with a high level of autonomy and build relationships while working virtually across the organization
- Previous exposure managing vendor relationships and negotiating
- Strong analytical, communication and organizational skills
- Results oriented, proactive, persuasive, curious, and eager to learn
- Spanish and English fluency
