**MRP BUYER**

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Procurement and Sourcing**:

- Source and procure electronic components, PCB materials, soldering supplies, and other items required for SMT production.
- Identify and evaluate suppliers for quality, reliability, and best pricing through research and industry databases.
- Place and manage purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- **Vendor and Supplier Management**:

- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure availability of key components.
- Analyze supplier performance and resolve any issues such as quality discrepancies or delivery delays.
- Work with suppliers to negotiate pricing, terms, and lead times to meet the company's cost and production goals.
- **Documentation and Reporting**:

- Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, invoices, and supplier communications in accordance with company policies.
- Generate regular reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, and spending analysis.
- Ensure compliance with internal processes, industry standards, and government regulations.
- **Cross-functional Collaboration**:

- Work closely with engineering, production, and planning teams to ensure alignment of sourcing to project needs.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) by sourcing components for prototypes and first runs.
- Provide SMT-specific input in the selection of new equipment or process changes to ensure smooth integration.

**Requirements**:

- **Education**: Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, electronics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- **Experience**: 2+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in an electronics or manufacturing environment.
- **Knowledge**:

- Strong understanding of electronic components, SMT processes, and related materials.
- Familiarity with BOM (Bill of Materials), MRP/ERP systems, and inventory management tools.
- Knowledge of component lifecycle management (e.g., EOL issues, obsolescence).
- **Skills**:

- Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and procurement software tools.
- **Certifications (preferred)**: APICS (CPIM), CPSM, or other supply chain or purchasing certifications.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Prior experience in SMT or electronics manufacturing environment.
- Understanding of international logistics and procurement for imported components.
- Familiarity with IPC standards and quality control processes for electronic components.
