In this role, you will have extensive understanding of the tools, processes, and techniques used to assemble and manufacture PCBA and Direct Fulfilment (DF box build) assembled Cisco products. You will also be collaborating with our global EMS partners as well as partnering with internal Manufacturing Operations, Product Operations and Technology & Quality team through your industry knowledge, experience identifying, and qualifying advanced assembly and manufacturing techniques and your Design for Excellence (DfX) feedback.
**Responsibilities and Tasks**
- Perform Design for Manufacturability/Assembly and Design for Cost analyses for PCBA, Direct Fulfilment (DF box build) and electro-mechanical parts and assemblies, effectively communicating required design and material changes to EMS and engineering.
- Identify and qualify manufacturers/extended workforce for mechanical assembly processes, review and provide design inputs on possible fixture and tooling automated solutions for manufacturing assembly related processes.
- Drive concurrent engineering through effectively communicating design, process, tooling, and material changes to Cisco’s manufacturing partners and design engineering peers.
- Provide comprehensive mechanical manufacturing engineering support to global manufacturing partners. Resolve manufacturing and field challenges by escalating design, manufacturing, and product test issues when appropriate.
- Conduct Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) of new and existing products and manufacturing processes.
- Use a Product Data Management system to review Bills of Materials, Approved Vendor Lists, and Engineering Change Notifications/Orders in support of Cisco products.
- Identify, initiate, and drive process improvements that reduce process cycle times and cost, while maintaining exceptional quality.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for Global Manufacturing Operations.
**Qualifications and Requirements**
- Bachelor or Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent fields with 3+ years of relevant industry experience
- Knowledge and Exposure in Front-End / Assembly / Final-Test manufacturing process for electronics products are preferred
- Experience with product data management systems (e.g., Agile) and 3D CAD modeling tools, such as SolidWorks or Pro Engineer.
- Experience developing solid, effective technical relationships with contract manufacturers.
- Experience in Manufacturing Engineering / Advance product & process control / Problem solving and process improvement methodologies (8D, Lean 6 Sigma)
- Technical Knowledge and FMEA facilitation techniques
- Requires on-site support at the manufacturing facilities
- Proactive & self-driven individual with relevant technical skill set
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in working and interfacing with cross functional teams and Demonstrated ability to influence cross functional organization and drive changes.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with proven track record to drive changes and implement changes to benefit the organization
- Experience in managing multiple projects using project management skills and tools will be a plus
- Strategically focused, impact oriented, highly organized and adaptable.
