Indirect Purchasing Services Lead

Partner with Program Managers to represent purchasing and communicate program requirements/vehicle line overview.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Ability to work effectively cross functionally, both internally and externally and build relationships
- Experience with commodities (metals, stampings, castings, plastics, resins, paint, electronics, etc.)
- Experience handling commercial issues with suppliers and assessing supplier performance
- Proven competence in negotiating skills
- Professional interpersonal verbal and written communication skills

PREFERRED CRITICAL SKILLS:

- Automotive industry experience
- Knowledge of procurement software
- Knowledge of materials management
- Capable of interpreting market data
- Able to read blueprints and to understand basic engineering documents

**Role**:
The Indirect Services Lead is responsible for leading a team engaged in the negotiations, contract services and ongoing management of indirect services. The role includes indirect oversite for a team that is highly functioning unit that supports local stakeholders and supplier relationship management, as well as overall driving Team direction and execution. The responsibilities include developing and implementing strategy plans while working to obtain budget and spending deliverables. Work is of a difficult nature involving a considerable amount of initiative, leadership skills, mentoring, negotiations, and a high level of independent judgment. As a lead, you will be expected to promote innovation and transformation within the organization while driving alignment to the GP&MS Vision. This role may have direct contracting responsibility for high impact agreements within the area.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provides leadership and supervision to team and interacts and collaborates with multi-functional teams to achieve goals and/or targets and execute commercial strategies
- Develop and execute robust strategies based on market and technology trends, while executing comprehensive business plans to meet business priorities.
- Responsible for assisting Conduent buyers with Terms and Conditions negotiations and deviation requests through legal.
- Keep abreast of current developments, market trends, and innovation in areas of expertise
- Assist the subscription buyer with pipeline management, Terms and Conditions acceptance, and sign supplier documents to finalize purchase.
- Manage supplier relationships and ensure achievement of supplier commitments (Quality, Cost, Performance, Timing and Sustainability)
- Support Conduent staff with resolution of operational, pricing and negotiations issues which will require independent thinking, purchasing experience and self-resolution
- Communicate budget targets and pricing changes while holding the team and supplier accountable to meet / exceed operational targets
- Ability to problem solve and implement new and innovative strategies
- Adhere to corporate and unit purchasing and accounting practices and procedures
- Promote GM's values and make customer-focused decisions

Role Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Procurement, Supply Chain Management or a related field, and/or MBA preferred
- 5 years Direct/Indirect Purchasing and/or Contract Support experience
- Preferred indirect purchasing experience with knowledge of existing tools, systems and processes for indirect sourcing, and T & C negotiations/deviations.
- Project management skills
- Ability to work independently
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- High level knowledge (or ability to learn) the types of contracted services being supported
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects and assignments simultaneously, while prioritizing requests
- Appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with internal business partners to meet mutual goals
- Knowledge of computer software (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of Global Business Solutions and Global Purchasing and Manufacturing Services Policies and Procedures
