Onyx Commercial Roofing and Roof Coating Supply, led by partners Adib and Jeff, are dynamic businesses based in Dallas, Texas, focused on delivering top-quality roofing solutions and supplies. Onyx Commercial Roofing provides roof coating solutions to commercial real estate investors, while Roof Coating Supply distributes commercial roof coatings to roofers. Operating from two adjacent offices with shared operations and a unified budget, we aim to scale both companies into independent regional leaders in multifamily roofing. We are seeking a dedicated, bilingual (English/Spanish) accountant to join our fully remote team, ensuring precise financial management and supporting our vision for streamlined, scalable operations.

**Job Overview**

**Responsibilities**
- Accurately balance financial books using PDF-exported bank statements, ensuring precision before transitioning to QuickBooks.
- Maintain detailed financial records, including ledgers and spreadsheets, using Google Sheets and eventually QuickBooks.
- Process accounts payable, receivable, and supplier payments, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.
- Track expenses and revenue for multiple commercial roofing projects and supply operations, supporting cost control.
- Identify inefficiencies in financial processes and propose improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
- Collaborate virtually with team members using Asana for task management, Gmail, Google Chat, and cell phone communication to coordinate financial and operational tasks.
- Contribute to developing and refining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to minimize redundancies and support scalability.
- Prepare basic financial reports for review by management to support unified budgeting for Onyx Commercial Roofing and Roof Coating Supply.
- Align all activities with the company’s vision to become a regional leader in multifamily roofing.

**Qualifications**
- **Age**: aged 30 or older.
- **Education**: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an in-person university (online degrees not accepted).
- **Experience**: 2-3 years of corporate accounting experience, preferably in roles involving large-scale operations with a focus on auditing and identifying inefficiencies.
- **Language**: Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (written and verbal) for effective communication with our Dallas-based team and suppliers.
- **Financial Responsibility**: Must own a home (not gifted) and have active car payments to demonstrate commitment and financial stability.
- **Technical Skills**: Proficient in Google Sheets and spreadsheet management; experience with QuickBooks or Asana is a plus but not required initially.
- **Technology Proficiency**: Tech-savvy with the ability to adapt to cloud-based tools (e.g., QuickBooks, Asana, Gmail, Google Chat) and virtual communication platforms.
- **Socioeconomic Background**: Lower-middle-class background with a strong drive to achieve personal milestones (e.g., home remodels, vacations).
- **Lifestyle**: Lifestyle reflecting ambition and stability, with hobbies and home setup (e.g., organized living space, mínimal pet ownership) demonstrating dedication and suitability.
- **Work Commitment**: Ability to commit to a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week.

- Build a scalable financial system to support the long-term goal of separating Onyx Commercial Roofing and Roof Coating Supply into independent entities.

- Enhance current SOPs and develop new ones to eliminate redundancies and support operational scalability.
