The Worldwide Consulting Centers’ Global SRE team is a part of the VMware Professional Services Center of Engineering (CoE). VCF supports both traditional enterprise and modern apps and provides a complete set of highly secure software-defined services for compute, storage, network, security, Kubernetes and cloud management Increase enterprise agility and flexibility with consistent infrastructure and operations across private and public clouds.

We are looking for experienced **developers** to work and advance the automation products and tools the SRE engineering team is using to deliver services. By advancing the instruments and processes we use to deliver SRE services we are looking to optimize the speed and quality of deliverables for our customers.

**Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing.**

Understand the dynamics of the Automation Development team helping the Global SRE Team to excel.
- Align and support the engineering practices adopted from the team.
- Deliver outstanding automation code integrated into a holistic solution to be used by the Global SRE Team in actual service delivery activities as well as planning and reporting.
- Able to bring optimization and effectiveness in process and delivery of work.
- Proactive individual & Own team enablement & knowledge strengthening.
- Collaborate with Engineering Managers, Project Managers, Service Managers & PMO.
- Communicate at all levels.

**The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?**
- Plan and Implement automation capabilities enhancing service delivery and/or planning and reporting.
- Constantly collaborate with field teams to help for automation solution adoption and aggregate feedback to advance further.
- Maintaining Stability and Reliability of the automation solution.
- Work closely with product development teams to improve maintainability and reliability of automation solutions.
- Constantly Grow knowledge for VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) and its ecosystem.
- Discuss project requirements/issues/constraints with EMs / PMs / SMs.
- Take ownership and accountability for individual deliverables.

**To be successful in this role, you **will** have **demonstrated** some or all the following**:

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively convey information, both verbally and in writing, to highly technical and non-technical topics.
- Being proactive to understand working flows and technical specifics of tasks on all levels looking to automate and productize features that would improve work in various aspects.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills across many layers (from software services, scripts bundle to storage, networking, hypervisor, OS, etc.).
- Work independently to resolve customer and team issues while assisting the management team in the team's overall development.
- Partner with Product Engineering teams, SRE teams, field teams, customer success teams to provide wholistic and meaningful solutions.
- Leverage internal technical expertise, including peers, mentors, knowledge base, community forums and other internal tools. Being highly communicative and willing to learn and practice new communication methods.
- Work with our junior engineers to up-skill them, work with engineering and product development, utilize your expertise to understand Customer needs and contribute towards product development.
