RESPONSIBILITIES
**What You'll Do**:
- Design, automate, and manage a highly available and scalable cloud deployment for efficient service deployment by development teams.
- Collaborate with engineering and architecture teams to identify optimal cloud solutions, focusing on scalability, performance, and security.
- Modernize on-premises solutions and improve existing systems, with extensive automation of deployments and management within Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Develop and maintain cloud solutions following best practices, ensuring data storage and processing align with security policies.
- Work with engineering teams to identify optimization strategies and develop self-healing capabilities, while enhancing observability.
QUALIFICATIONS
**You'll Have**:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, with over 2 years of experience in designing, deploying, and operating mid to large-scale public cloud environments, preferably in GCP.
- Professional cloud certifications (e.g., Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect or DevOps Engineer) are advantageous.
- At least 1 year of experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools like CloudBuild, Tekton, or GitHub Actions, and monitoring solutions such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Google Cloud Operations Suite.
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or Go, and understanding of networking and security best practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills and excellent communication for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
**Even Better, You May Have**:
- Experience in developing custom Terraform providers or plugins with Policy as Code.
- Strong GitHub and DevOps expertise, with Tekton experience as a plus.
- Proficiency in scripting and coding with Python, Go, Java, JavaScript, and Node.js.
- Extensive knowledge of Grafana and Prometheus, and exposure to cloud-native monitoring and logging.
- Experience with automation tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef, and familiarity with cloud security best practices.
- A mindset focused on continuous improvement and innovation in processes and technologies.
