We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of **Cloud Engineer**
**Principal responsibilities**
- Support, design, and develop solutions for NA Wholesale Lending and Onboarding
- Troubleshoot issues with infrastructure and service deployments and use learnings to improve and strengthen cloud infrastructure
- Ensure efficient functioning of data storage and processing functions in accordance with HSBC security policies and best practices in cloud security
- Create and improve patterns for deploying infrastructure as code to support components built with microservices architectures in Java
- Ensure all infrastructure as code deployments meet bank standards for IT security
- Work with HSBC global Cloud Architects to design and implement patterns for cloud networking, IT security assurance, service deployment and service management that comply with strict bank and regulatory standards
- Regularly reviewing existing systems and making recommendations for improvements
Requirements
**Requerimients**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related fields
- 3-5 years of experience in the field of cloud computing
- Experience with CI/CD and DevOps
- A strong problem-solving capability
- An ability to work well within a cross-functional agile team, delivering either as an individual contributor or pairing effectively with a colleague as needed
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform
- Experience with SysOps
- Expert in code deployment tools and frameworks (Terraform specifically)
- Fundamental knowledge of networking and routing
- Working knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases
- Version Control Tools (GITHUB) and code management strategy
- Integration of Code and Image Scanning Tools
- Secrets Management
- Access Credentials
- Signed Security Certificates
- Vaults
- Linux (beyond basic admin level)
- Bash scripting
- Ansible (Core and Tower)
- Terraform/Terragrunt
- Packer
- Terratest / Inspec
- Chef (optional)
- Agile Methodologies
- Cloud (detailed knowledge of at least one cloud platform)
- GCP preferred
- AWS acceptable
- Certification preferred but not essential
