As a Sourcing Specialist, you will be responsible for leading efforts in exploring, initiating, developing, and validating opportunities in quality improvements, cost savings, and other sourcing related opportunities. You will act as the technical interface between suppliers and manufacturing to determine new and alternative sources and will work with internal team members to negotiate terms to capitalize on cost reduction opportunities.

The Sourcing Specialist will:

- Have continuous involvement and improvement of the Supplier Selection Processes to develop a supply base that provides a competitive advantage in quality, value, cost, delivery, etc.
- Review supplier processes and identify improvement opportunities.
- Work with Engineering departments to ensure technical documents meet requirements and all expectations are communicated effectively.
- Utilize project management skills and tools to investigate alternate component technologies for reduced cost or improved quality and reliability and will implement changes in collaboration with other departments.
- Conduct supplier audits in compliance with business objectives.
- Work with relevant internal team members on Materials Quotation Analysis (if applicable) to quote new and existing materials.
- Work with team to requote and negotiate to capitalize on cost reduction opportunities as appropriate, given market conditions.
- Continuously reduce the cost of materials by limiting unfavorable Purchase Price Variance PPV/MPV.
- Review Supplier capacity planning & create a necessary action plan to address the business requirements.
- Have a strong External focus and ability to bring ideas / information from Commodity / Industry group.

Requirements section:

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in strategic sourcing activities, preferably in a production field.
- Familiar with ISO 9001 standard and competent to perform supplier/process audits; Knowledgeable in various quality tools and systems and capable of proposing guidance to suppliers to resolve quality problems.
- Understands Mechanical Manufacturing Processes i.e., Machining, Casting, Sheet metal, Fabrication, Injection Molding, Extrusion, Fasteners, High level assembly etc.
- Possesses a good understanding of several basic measurement equipment devices.
- Understands technical drawings and capable of interpreting mechanical and electrical drawings within industry standard.
- Can perform advanced mathematical calculations.
- Deep understanding and hands-on experience in manufacturing process control and quality systems.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication and group presentation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and ERP systems.
- Able to work as both an individual contributor and in a team environment.
- Able to travel domestically and internationally as needed, to maintain accepted supplier quality score.
