This position and this department are focused to enhance overall enterprise competitiveness and improve total costs of ownership by developing and driving Dover consistency and programs in the following areas of global supplier and business development in the assigned region:
New Supplier Identification and Development for Dover - Risk Management - Value Creation and Continuous Cost Reduction - Corporate Quality best practices, audits, and process controls - Supplier identification and development for strategic contributions to Dover OpCos - OpCo Best Value Country (BVC) efforts to supplier and program development and implementations brining value - Supplier quality engineering support - VA & VE activities.
The position is geographically centered but requires global coordination among colleagues and Global Sourcing peers, OpCo personnel, and executive management teams. This is a high exposure position requiring outstanding communication, presentation, and influencing skills along with a persuasive attitude, self-motivational persona and ability to work alone or as a member of a team, and a drive to obtain outstanding results.
**Duties and responsibilities**
This individual will develop relationships with all levels of ICs and managers in Dover OpCos to identify opportunities for business improvement through Mexico sourcing.
A key component of this person's experience must be to address any potential or future quality processes and supplier performance and bridge the relationship between Mexican supplier and assumed non-Mexico OpCo personnel.
- Reinforce the value the customer is getting from your product
- Review the goals set up from the last SBR
- Set new goals for the next quarter and assure contract compliance
- Establish your standing with the customer
- Capture and sell the wins your customer/program manager is creating
- Capture and sell the work you’re doing as part of the relationship
Within their assigned territory, the individual will provide leadership across Dover in identifying and reporting elements of risk in the supply base and providing a comprehensive and Dover-consistent Risk Management program across the enterprise.
The individual will provide leadership across Dover in driving Value Creation and Value Engineering activities from the region's key supplier and Dover's Category Manager's perspectives.
The individual will provide insights and strategies toward supplier improvement, or new supplier identification and development for strategic contributions to Dover OpCos.
Drive Dover toward best solutions in total cost of ownership.
Communication across all levels of management and types of OpCo and corporate personnel is critical. The induvial provides OpCos with information and knowledge as to suppliers' capabilities toward partnership with OpCos in R&D and product development.
Drive, and support, the corporate category managers in transforming OpCo and corporate personnel from transactional procurement to a true Strategic Sourcing practice.
This individual is key in identifying and driving implementations of sustainable cost reductions, quality/total cost of ownership, supplier rationalization, flawless supplier launches, and other key procurement and sourcing strategies across DOVER.
**Key Accomplishments - First Eighteen Months**
Systematically Track Supplier Performance and provide regular (Monthly) updates on region performance.
Understand supply chain and business model for key OpCos to able to support their operation and bring value.
Visit all key and strategic OpCos as well suppliers within the first 4 Qs.
Has successfully implemented at least one value added project for the OpCos that are actively sourcing from Mexico.
Deployment of Dover quality policy with strategic and growth suppliers
Must be able to support and back-up the Global Sourcing Manager in Mexico for assigned responsibilities.
**Qualifications - Skills and Experience**
Experience - Value analysis (VA)/ value engineering (VE) training, target costing experience, continuous improvement, lean or Six-Sigma training, design for manufacture and assembly (DFMA) experience, program management training, estimating background or experience.
Thorough understanding of Process Controls, FMEA, Kaizens, Poka-Yoke (Six Sigma green belt and ISO internal auditor preferred). Adept in using all the equipment’s such as CMM, Profile projector, and basic measuring instruments and gauges.
