Manufacturing Engineering Manager

1. What position does it report to: Plant Manager

2. Which positions report directly to you: Manufacturing Engineer, Tool Engineer and Design Engineer.

3. Main Activities and Responsibilities: The Engineering Manager will carry out all or some of the following activities:
a) Manage Engineering Services and ensure the safe operation of the equipment

b) Control and supervision of tooling processes.

c) Monitor compliance and effectiveness of automation implementations.

d) Ensure compliance with 5S's, create and manage programs for sustained performance in team productivity.

e) Develop, control and ensure timely completion of plant objectives/action plans, both short and long term.

f) Assist the Plant Manager in making operational improvements to reduce costs and increase productivity.

g) Use new technologies and principles of Lean Manufacturing and processes to maximize efficiency.

h) Plan, manage and execute the capital goods program with the Annual Operating Plan and the established policy.

i) Maintain and develop a network with equipment suppliers.

j) Promote the development of cost savings initiatives (VCP), including management of services and equipment.

k) Provide day-to-day leadership for technicians and associated staff.

l) Ensure that the personnel in charge carry out the work in accordance with established safety procedures and with the required personal protective equipment.

m) Develop a work environment that promotes trust, teamwork and safety.

o) Ensure compliance with safeway policies, practices and procedures.

p) Ensure the production of a quality product with Safeway compliance and ensure compliance with the Standards.

q) Compliance with continuous improvement programs.

r) Develop and implement projects to eliminate waste.

s) Attend government inspections on everything related to buildings and machinery.

t) Support to EHS in timely compliance with safety conditions.

u) Support to the security department to eliminate unsafe conditions for the building.

v) Participate as an internal instructor when required.

w) Comply with the quality system procedures that correspond to the position held.

x) Application and monitoring of the activities of the Self-Management System

y) And any other activity that the company needs you to carry out.

4. Required education or experience in years:
a) BS Mechanical or Electromechanical Engineering or 5 years of experience

5. Most important knowledge that the person requires for the position:
a) Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).

b) Experience in supervision and support of engineering technicians.

c) Experience in failure analysis.

d) Molding.

e) Knowledge of electrical and mechanical measuring instruments.

f) Know how to interpret electrical and pneumatic diagrams.

g) Reading plans.

h) English 80%.
