Production Planner

**General Job Description**:
Plans and prepares production schedules for manufacture of industrial or commercial products: Draws up master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders. Set up, process and manage Material Requirement Planning (MRP).

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Operate within the quality manual, employee handbook, procedures and work instructions of the company (see matrix).
- Adhere to all Company Policy & Procedures and Department Procedures.
- Responsible for the planning, organization and direction of all areas engaged in the manufacture of products for customers or MASS.
- Interface closely with Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, Production Control, Purchasing and Programming to establish processes, procedures for specific jobs and/or processes to fabricate parts.
- Assist in the development of scheduling jobs and sales orders to meet customer requirements.
- Alerts the planning manager of problems with job schedules that affect production or customer delivery.
- Reviews material requirements, and works with Purchasing on material demands.
- Supports Quality Department. (Internal / External inspection operations requirements)
- Interface with Sales on jobs in jeopardy of failing to meet delivery dates.
- Material Requirement Planning (MRP)
- Reviews jobs/projects for phasing over to MRP
- Sets Up Part Maintenance for MRP
- Establishes Min / Max for Job Quantities and Inventory levels
- Sets Up Methods of Manufacturing for MRP
- Monitors Un-firm MRP Jobs / firms jobs for release
- Monitors inventory levels
- Works directly with Production Control, Manufacturing, Warehouse to address and resolve job and inventory issues pertaining to MRP Parts
- Works with Estimating on cancellation charges.
- Works with Engineering on methods and job changes

**Education, Training, and Experience**:

- Currently working towards a Bachelor’s, Master’s or advanced degree relevant to Supply Chain Management
- Planning / Scheduling experience
- Material Requirement Planning (MRP) experience
- Epicor (ERP) System experience
- Manufacturing experience / Job Shop / Sheet Metal / Machining / Welding / Assembly
- Experience with Microsoft Office Project
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

- Update current assignments based on the information provided by the Proto Team.
- Ability to create Proto or Full routing and BOM using MASS’s current MRP system.

Ability to commute/relocate:

- 45690, El Salto, Jal.: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (preferred)
