**Senior Machine Learning and Backend Engineer**

**Location: Remote (Colombia, Bolivia, Argentina, Paraguay, and Mexico)**

**About the Role**

We are looking for a **Senior Machine Learning and Backend Engineer** to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with deep expertise in Python, AWS infrastructure, and machine learning, who thrives in an environment that demands scalability, automation, and rapid iteration. You will play a critical role in building and optimizing data processing pipelines, integrating AI-driven solutions, and enhancing observability for image and ecommerce-related workflows.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Develop and maintain a serverless processing pipeline for image assets.
- Enhance observability and tracking, adding metadata on image ownership and provenance.
- Integrate ML models to compare and process images, automating decision-making workflows.
- Support ML experiments for improving image processing efficiency and accuracy.
- Leverage AWS Bedrock for fine-tuning models.
- Develop and maintain scalable infrastructure using AWS services like EC2, SQS, Lambda, S3, DynamoDb, Cloudwatch, RDS, Elasticsearch, and serverless computing.
- Collaborate on improving data quality, data processing, and logging to ensure robust ecommerce data flows.
- Design systems that are horizontally scalable, addressing increasing data complexity and load.
- Build and optimize backend data pipelines using Python.
- Implement observability and monitoring layers to track system performance and health.

**What You Bring**
- Strong backend engineering skills with a focus on Python and AWS.
- Hands-on experience with serverless architecture, S3, SQS, Lambda, and observability tools.
- Experience with computer vision, OpenCV, and image processing workflows.
- Familiarity with notebooks for ML iteration (Jupyter, Colab, or similar).
- Ability to work independently and iterate on models and backend infrastructure.
