**Role**:
As part of the Steel Components Mexico team, the Supplier Development Engineer will focus on Steel Castings, ensuring supplier quality and compliance with manufacturing and legal standards. The role supports business localization in Mexico and drives supplier performance improvement to enhance operational excellence and competitiveness.
- Ensure the quality of steel casting supplies through inspections, testing, and evaluation mechanisms.
- Monitor supplier defect rates and generate quality reports; guide suppliers in reducing defects and improving consistency.
- Research and assess potential suppliers, including audits of their manufacturing practices to ensure compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
- Support suppliers in performance improvement through process optimization, control implementation, and quality assurance planning.
- Collaborate with customers to develop new sources and support the introduction of new products aligned with business localization strategies.

**Education requirement**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related
- Fluent communication in English verbally and in writing.

**Problem-solving (Root Cause Analysis)**:

- Analytical mindset with proficiency in Microsoft software (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power BI)
- Knowledge and management in ETQ Reliance

**Effective Communications**:
**Process Improvement**:

- Understanding and insight into evaluating current product quality and production methods and ability to maintains focus on the continuous improvement of processes, products and services.

**Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)**:

- Robust Knowledge of Production Part Approval Processes (PPAP).

**Supplier Evaluations and Certification**:

- Extensive Knowledge of supplier evaluations and certification

**Quality Orientation**:

- Expert knowledge of quality management methods, tools, and techniques; ability to create and support an environment that meets the quality goals of the organization.
- Lean Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt preferred)
- Knowledge in supply chain field
- Advance Conversational English
