Purpose

Create, maintain and extend software products and technology service offerings that focus on serving the needs of retailers and other businesses that utilize e-commerce, point of sale, and payment processing technoloies.

Essential Duties

Create new software products, modules and features (30%)
- Design and code software features that adhere to delivered design requirements
- Perform unit testing of code created
- Participate in the testing/fix quality assurance cycle
- Collaborate with other developers on feature integration into a larger system

Maintain existing software products and services (20%)
- Correct software deficiencies (bugs)
- Add features and enhancements that adhere to delivered design requirements
- Perform unit testing of code created

Collaborate as part of a development team (20%)
- Participate in Scrum meetings
- Participate in periodic planning sessions
- Provide weekly updates on project progress to project/program management

Contribute to the product specification process (15%)
- Create new software/feature design specifications
- Review and provide feedback on specifications created by others
- Negotiate with Scrum Masters, product management/stakeholders on technical issues that impact deliverable goal viability

Draft documentation for development projects (15%)
- Comment code to provide clarity during later rework/reuse projects
- Create “rough draft” documentation of software products for revision by QA and technical writers

Required Qualifications
- 3 years of experience with depth and breadth of technical expertise in designing and developing software solutions
- Basic general skills in; leadership, communication, organizational, interpersonal, conflict management/resolution, problem solving, negotiation, decision-making, analytical
- Advanced discipline skills in; code craftsmanship, design patterns, code review, DevOps
- Basic discipline skills in; refactoring, unit/integration testing

Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of: Payment Processing, PCI Standards, Software Usability, Software Architecture, Systems Administration, Information Security
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
