**Job Description Summary**: The variable cost productivity engineer performs cost-out activities contributing to the cost engine and hardware commodity improvement. Includes activities linked to technical improvement of existing products and components. Interacts with multidisciplinary teams, in particular Sourcing and Product design.

**Roles and Responsibilities**
- Identify and execute with some guidance cost out projects per the VCP Lab - Variable Cost Productivity Lab Playbook mainly for commodities as SHS - Share Hardware Solutions, GM&F - Global Machining & Fabrications and SH - Standard Hardware.
- Perform with some guidance feasibility assessments and technical screening for project ideas.
- Interact with Sourcing, Engineering and Manufacturing areas on cost improvement projects.
- Execute with some guidance data analysis to support cost out project.
- Effectively communicate project progress and roadblocks.
- Uses lean problem-solving tools in his/her daily job.

**Required Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge in a mechanical hardware design and/or product definition.
- Knowledge for interpretation of technical drawings (2D / MBD) and GD&T.
- Team player mindset.
- Must be able to maintain a normal day-to-day fluid conversation in English on any topic with few mistakes (mistakes that do not affect clear understanding). Must have fluency, rhythm, and sufficient self-confidence in the language to be able to handle meetings and conversations.
- Presentation Skills: Ability to present and report his/her project progress.

**Desired Characteristics**
- Knowledge in manufacturing processes and design process lifecycle.
- Aware in cost estimate methods as Derivatives, CAD assistance software.
- Proactive and self-driven nature.
- Knowledge of data analytics.
- Support to document, plan, market, and execute projects.
- Awareness of MS Excel programing and use of Power Query.
