**GPS Verification and Testing Systems - Supervisor Autonomous/Fuel Cells**

**General Purpose of Position**:
The automotive industry is likely to change more in the next 5 years than it has in the last 50 and we are at the heart of that change. Verification and Testing Systems group thrives on developing, deploying, and inventing new technology within Global Propulsion manufacturing process. Along with working on GM's most advanced technology and all propulsion systems, the group has the luxury of working across multiple facilities within the Global Propulsion Center Global Foot Print.

First-level supervisor of an engineering group will be responsible for leading and supporting the execution of multiple projects within the battery, engine, transmission, fuel cells, battery cell development, electric motors, electric drive units, and AV subsystems. Responsibilities include managing individual project workload as well as leading project teams. Work is performed in a team environment where you will have daily interactions with product engineering, plant engineering, other manufacturing engineers and a multitude of others to successfully launch new products. You will be working in a centralized engineering center and plant environment where a considerable amount of creativity and initiative is exercised as well as a high level of independent judgment.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Prioritization of workload to enable employees to accomplish all responsibilities
- Project management of multiple test projects across all GPS products
- Creation & maintenance of engineering standardized work (BOP/BOE/specifications/etc.)
- Support prototype builds/testing through development of processes, tooling, and equipment all while working with product engineering to refine designs for manufacturing testing process.
- Develop the production manufacturing test process for new products
- Design, build, integration, plant installation, successful launch and continuous improvement of test equipment in plants for the production of high quality parts
- Providing technical direction to and oversight of outside vendor sources
- Development and testing of advanced process technology
- Providing technical direction to and coordination of less experienced VTS engineers
- Perform People Leader responsibilities for direct reports including but not limited to:

- CAP - goal setting, mid-year and year-end reviews
- Managing results and evaluating/coaching individual performance
- Compensation planning and communication
- Training and development planning
- Support manager with general administrative tasks such as managing budget targets, approving travel requests, expense reports, PTAS and purchasing requests; planning vacation schedules
- Implement and maintain key safety processes and programs

**Key Qualifications**:

- Demonstrated level of analytical ability, communication and interpersonal skills required to build relationships with team members and customers to solve problems and resolve issues
- Technical knowledge and ability in process engineering disciplines
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and complex projects with high level of autonomy and accountability for results
- Knowledge/ability to implement new and current testing principles
- Demonstrates initiative by reaching beyond work assigned to improve output and/or help others
- Willing to travel both locally and globally and work extended hours when required
- Demonstrated understanding of plant floor and design for manufacturability
- ME experience with successful individual achievements and strong team-based achievements
- Global Exposure working with others from around the globe to complete projects
- In depth experience in testing and development within batteries, transmission, engine, and advanced propulsion systems highly preferred

**Education**:

- BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or engineering degree with equivalent training/experience.
- Advanced english level
- Tavel 25%
