Sr. Buyer

**EDUCATION &/or EXPERIENCE**:
BA in Business with emphasis in Supply Chain Management, or Purchasing or equivalent; and four to six years purchasing, manufacturing, engineering related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Three to five years of strong technical experience with Automotive business.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Develop a qualified low cost supply base to support current and anticipated automotive program sourcing requirements.
- Develop rationale and provide support for supplier selection.
- Participate in or lead team in strategy development, cost savings efforts, minority business strategy, and associated reporting.
- Support Launch team through Supplier Selection, Statement of Work Negotiation, and Make vs Buy analysis.
- Support Production team when quality issues arise with components from supply base.
- Coordinate volume discount & planned productivity discounts with supply base.
- Other duties as assigned.

Attention to detail and accuracy. Must have good computer skills with a working knowledge of automotive experience, technical knowledge and/or experience in the metals industry and technology. Must understand Good Communication, Negotiation, and Computer Skills in a manufacturing environment.
