Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add an Automation Engineer Lead located in Guadalajara, North Campus.

The Automation Engineer Lead role involves being responsible to drive, manage and lead the Automation Technical Team for the Definition, Development, Implementation and proliferation of the standard automation solution. Develop suppliers for equipment development and support on new customer engagement in the region with a focus in technical support.

What a typical day looks like:

- Lead Technical Automation Team for equipment definition, development and proliferation
- Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals
- Recognizes and develops talent as a key element of executing operational business plans. Ensures Flex values are part of site work life. Provides strategic leadership for the function and the site.
- Uses judgement based on analysis of information and solves situations where precedent may not exist. Exercises independent judgement in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria.
- Work effectively with leadership, design and engineering, marketing, and other stakeholders to prioritize requirements for Growth and Productivity
- Demonstrates functional, technical and people and/or process management skills as well as customer (external and internal) relationship skills.
- Define clear requirements to achieve goals with ROI, Investment cost, scalable solutions etc.
- Build financial models (i.e., Microsoft Excel); conduct quantitative and qualitative business, market, and competitor analysis; help identify and assess existing and new market initiatives as it relates to Growth
- Be a key spokesperson to advocate core product capabilities and potential opportunities. Effectively participate in promotion activities internally and with customers to represent various industry products, solutions, and value propositions.
- Be able to create and define RFQ/SOW documents to quote with suppliers new integrations
- Have the capability to independently or together with other engineering stakeholders identify root causes of failures in the manufacturing process in order to define the best technology.
- Get involved with local teams and operations to provide technical support for the implementation or development of any technology.
- Take responsibility for the development or implementation of a project.
- Train local teams on the technologies
- Lead a group of Automation Engineering
- Able to quote and follow up automation integration: Simple, Custom or entire line for full processes
- Work in collaboration with Project Manager to meet timeline
- Knowledge in Project Management

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

- BA/BS or equivalent work experience
- Advance knowledge in Project Management
- Advance knowledge on building Automation systems
- Advance knowledge in operation management, effective communication
- Advance knowledge in Supplier Management
- Knowledge in Equipment Management, installation, maintenance and repair
- Knowledge of of general finance and budgeting, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash-flow management.
- Ability to build consensus and relationships among managers, partners, and employees.
- Scheduling and Time management
- Knowledge in Vision Inspections, Robotics, electrical and control, pneumatic and SW
- Experience with industrial protocols like OPC, Profibus, Fieldbus, Devicenet, IO-link, Modbus, TCP/IP or similar.
- Basic knowledge in design SW tools such as: SW, NX, CAD
- Management of PM tool such as: Microsoft Project, Smartsheet
- Interpretation and establishment of KPI and Operational Metrics for automation devices.
- Experience in manufacturing process for electronics devices and mechanical assemblies (e.g., dispensing, screw-fastening, welding, soldering, general knowledge in testing, etc.)
- Training in safety and ergonomics.
- Experience in definition of preventive maintenance processes.
- Fluent English, written and spoken.
- Valid US Visa and passport.
