**Descripción y Requisitos**
**Propósito**Funciones**
- Follows up and understands in detail the product requirements and compares them with Werner’s manufacturing capabilities.
- Performs research and developms to implement the manufacturing facility’s needs. Searches for capable vendors and suppliers to design and develop equipment and processes. Manages budgets and timelines, assessing existing systems and methods to find areas needing improvement, and implementing solutions against problem areas. Participates in strategic marketing and financial analysis in order to work in paralel to prepare the manufacturing facilities for future challenges.
**Responsabilidades**
Engage and collaborate with teams assigned as part of any NPI, Productivity, Advanced Development or Business Sustainability Project as the SME for production processes.
- Participates in all Design For Manufacturability (DFM) analysis when developing new products design. Gathers information on all manufacturing capabilities necessary to be included in Product Design and product Requirements
- Participates in PFMEA analysis is used as tool for Manufacturing Process Design in every new process implemented.
- Participates in several independent, cross-functional projects and improve manufacturing quality, reduce cost,
- Implementation of QC controls, such as error proofing, gaging, SPC, process and product inspections
- Gathers and documents all inputs required for tool design and fabrication. Validates effectivity at vendor’s floor and before SOP in Werner’s facility. Assures compliance to Werner’s standards for Safety, Quality and Delivery.
- Identifies, develops and works with external tool and equipment suppliers. Creates a partnership to assure that Werner’s needs can be fulfilled with the best reliance, speed and cost.
- Researches and develops best in class production processes as well as new technologies applicable to Werner’s needs.
- Uses equipment capacity utilization, process capabilities, labor cost, floor space, lead times to assess cost impact.- Responsible in the development, delivery, and installation in the plant multiple sheet metal fabrication processes, tooling and equipment. (Punching, laser, plasma, bending, stamping, piercing, welding, swaging, etc.)**Perfil**
**Escolaridad**: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical, Industrial Engineering
- **Experiência**: 3 years experience as a Manufacturing Engineer
- **Competencias**
Creativity, Innovation, Open to Assess Changes, Analytical, Data Driven, Problem Solving mentality, Good Communication Skills.
- **Conocimientos específicos**:
Strong technical background in Fabrication Processes (Sheet Metal transformation, Pultrusion, Aluminum Extrusion, Powder Paint) as well as Assembly methods.
- TIG, MIG welding experience. Automatization with robots for welding processes required.
- CNC turret punching, Laser cutting, tooling design and development, Metal bending.
- PLC and PC-based control systems proficiency
- Extensive Stamping processes knowledge. Piercing and Stamping dies development.
- Extensive knowledge of DFM, PFMEA, MSA, APQP, SPC
- Ample experience defining, designing, validating and troubleshooting fabrication processes. (cutting, bending, punching, stamping, piercing, etc.)
- Hydraulic and Pneumatic circuits knowledge is a plus
- Proficient in Solid Works, MS Office, MS Project
- CAM programming proficency.
