**Job Description**:
We’re looking for a Senior database administrator for NielsenIQ’s global database administration team in México City, Polanco office. The individual in this role will be responsible for design, implementation and administration for NielsenIQ’s databases, as well as leadership and mentoring of lower level database administrators.

**What you´ll do**
- Provide expert level support for Oracle, Postgres, and MongoDB Atlas is a plus
- Lead the on-shift DBAs in the absence of a tech lead
- Adhere to change control procedures
- Implement and monitor BAU activities - monitoring, backups, troubleshooting, security, user maintenance, reporting, migrations, upgrades, data copying, etc
- Architect database solutions to optimally meet business needs
- Shell scripting, stored procs, SQL, query tuning, etc
- Execute company initiatives in the database space
- Implement schema changes at direction of AppDev
- Disaster recovery and database restoration
- Recovery from backups
- Automation of routine tasks
- Mentor lower level DBAs

**We’re looking for people who have**
- 5+ years of applicable database experience
- Flexible work hours - willingness to work different shifts as needed and attend occasional calls outside of normal work hours. The team must provide 24/7 database support
- Expert level experience with at least one of Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB Atlas. Willingness to learn the others
- Expert level understanding of database system concepts - ACID properties, normal forms, backup and recovery mechanisms, DDL vs DML, transaction logging, log shipping, etc
- Basic understanding of cloud environments, preferably Azure
- Strong data warehouse experience
- A passion and energy for learning and improving. Willing to embrace change.
- Excellent English communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively interface across cross-functional technology teams and the business
- B.S. degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field strongly preferred
