**What does a great Data Science Intern do?**

You would work on innovative data science product prototypes which would be enhanced and integrated into the Travelport systems in the future. You would work on building scalable and efficient data science models and algorithms for travel retail business problems. During your internship you would also learn about big data analytics, machine learning development, and automating machine learning processes for large scale deployment.

**What kind of work will you be doing?**
- Perform data cleansing/transformation, feature engineering, data visualization, and data mining using big data and open-source tools
- Uses scripting languages like Python and R to develop new insights from available data
- Uses various RDBMS and data tools for data manipulation, cleaning, and matching processes
- Delivers statistical and machine learning/predictive models from both internal and external data to provide solutions, insights, and new opportunities for business and product
- Effectively contribute to assigned projects by collaborating and learning from other data scientists and data engineers in the team

**Who would do well in this role?**

Studying for a relevant degree is always helpful, but more importantly we to see that you’re passionate, you have a desire to add value, take ownership of projects, innovate and be bold, all while working with autonomy and accountability.
- Students studies in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or any related field
- Passionate to develop solutions for complete data science problems using open-source technologies like Python, Spark, and R
