**Where and how you can work**
Our flagship campus is in Sydney, Australia but we engage our Contractors and Freelancers all over the world to help us meet our crazy big goals. As a Contractor at Canva you can work remotely in the country listed on this job ad, meaning you have ultimate flexibility. Wherever works for you, works for us. Please note, this is a 6-month contract role.
**What you’d be doing in this role**
As our Senior Copywriter, you’ll work closely with the Creative Director to shape and bring Canva’s voice to life across Latin America. Partnering with an Art Director and a team of freelancers, you’ll craft compelling copy across all mediums—from integrated campaigns to product launches and events.
We’re looking for someone versatile, experienced, and brimming with creative energy. You’ll have a knack for thinking strategically—even if you’re not technically a strategist—and the ability to turn those big-picture ideas into simple, clear, and inspiring copy.
This is your chance to help build our voice in Mexico in a way that is true to Canva. You’ll create fresh performance marketing ideas, lead product campaigns, and write standout content for events. You’ll also jump into testing and iterating creative assets as part of our always-on strategy.

At the moment, this role is focused on:
- Writing, reviewing, and dreaming up ideas for Canva’s brand, product, and performance campaigns.
- Leading campaigns from the initial idea to final execution, always staying true to Canva’s brand and strategy.
- Confidently pitching concepts and present your work to senior creative leaders, product marketers, and key stakeholders with a clear creative vision and strategic reasoning.
- Collaborating with external partners, sharing guidance and feedback to keep messaging consistent and high-quality.
- Work closely with the Creative Director to ensure schedules are accurate and realistic and that deadlines are met.
**You're probably a match if**
- You have proven experience creating for TV, digital, social media, OOH, and performance marketing.
- You have a creative mind with a proven track record of developing original ideas and bringing them to life with care and attention to detail.
- You have a portfolio of diverse work that spans advertising and branding
- Your strategic thinking helps you uncover problems, identify insights, and turn them into powerful creative concepts.
- You have a love for writing copy that’s thoughtful, meaningful, clear, inspiring, and—when needed—provocative.
- You have Native-level Spanish and strong English skills (we’re a global team, so English will be part of your every day).
This is a remote role with flexible working hours, but you’ll need to balance your schedule to accommodate occasional global team meetings in the evening (6-9 PM)
