Role:Cloud Automation EngineerPosition Type:Full-Time Contract (40hrs/week)Contract Duration:Long TermWork Hours:US TimeWork Schedule:8 hours/day (Mon-Fri)Location:100% RemoteWe are seeking a senior-level Cloud Automation Engineer to join our Database Engineering team and drive automation standards across on-premise and cloud database platforms. This role focuses heavily on CI/CD, infrastructure automation, and cloud-native tooling to enable reliable, scalable database deployments across AWS and GCP environments.The ideal candidate is a strong individual contributor who can act as an automation SME, solve complex problems, advise teams on best practices, and mentor junior engineers while supporting large-scale hybrid cloud environments.Key ResponsibilitiesAct as an SME for automation tooling supporting database platforms in AWS, GCP, and hybrid environmentsDesign, develop, and enhance CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins following security and industry best practicesBuild and maintain infrastructure automation using TerraformDevelop automated workflows using Python, JSON, Linux shell, cloud CLIs, and serverless tools (AWS Lambda)Support planning, architecture, and implementation of database automation standardsLead or contribute to proof-of-concepts for new automation and database technologiesServe as an escalation point for automation-related operational issues and provide RCA for critical incidentsMaintain standards documentation and follow change management processesCollaborate in an Agile team environment and actively improve platform reliability and efficiencyMentor junior team members and contribute to skill development across the teamRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience7+ years of experience with CI/CD and automation tools (Jenkins, Terraform, Git)3+ years of hands-on AWS cloud experience (Aurora, RDS, DynamoDB a plus)Strong experience with Git/Bitbucket and CI/CD pipeline managementExperience with cloud monitoring tools (AWS CloudWatch, CloudTrail, GCP Operations)Solid understanding of database architecture and automation practicesStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skillsPreferred SkillsPython scripting and Linux shell automationCloud-native automation using AWS CLI and LambdaExperience leveraging AI tools in code developmentAWS, GCP, or Terraform certifications
