Under the general guidance of the VP of Sales and/or General Manager, responsible for directing, coordinating, training, and supervising the Sales Managers and the Sales Administrators in all sales-related activities. Responsible for assisting in the creation of strategies and the direct oversight of the execution of plans and tactics used to focus on increasing direct revenue for the property. Responsible for growing existing accounts and generating new business to ensure that revenues meet or exceed budget to maximize revenue and profits, and to improve the hotel's performance in the marketplace.Direct and manage all group and transient sales activities to maximize revenue for the hotelPrepare, implement and compile data for the strategic sales plan, monthly SMART goals, annual goals, sales budget, forecasts and other reports as directed/requiredDevelop rates, group ceilings and deployment strategies through review of competitive data, demand analysis and mix managementRecruit, direct, manage, train and counsel sales staff. Oversee departmental matters as they relate to federal, state and local employment and civil rights lawsParticipate in sales presentations, property tours and customer meetingsConduct and attend business review meetings, strategic sales meetings, management meetings and other meetings as required/ requestedRepresent the hotel in community and industry organizations and eventsParticipate as team player with other key executive membersBe a leader and role model to all team membersSupervise, administer and ensure timely completion of all activities of the Sales DepartmentDevelop a full working knowledge of the operations of the hotel, including Food and Beverage, Guest Services, Front Office, Housekeeping and Revenue ManagementDevelop a complete knowledge of company sales policies and SOP's, and ensure knowledge of and adherence to those policies by the sales teamDevelop and maintain market awareness to ensure ability to predict revenue opportunities and set proactive strategiesMeet or exceed established goalsOperate the Sales Department within established sales expense budgetCoordinate group and transient bookings to maximize profitsInitiate and follow up on leadsMonitor production of all top accounts and evaluate trends within said market. Ensure sales staff is held accountable for those accounts within their respective territoriesCoordinate all non-group transient sales solicitations to maximize market mixAdminister training in the Sales departmentAssist in the preparation of required reports in a timely mannerConduct weekly sales meetings and daily line upsDevise or modify procedures to solve process problems that will result in more efficientAny other reasonable duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager.We recognize we are in the hospitality industry and that may require us to provide lateral service. We will on occasion call for each individual in the team to on a routine basis perform various related tasks as needed in the spirit of providing exceptional guest service.Review meeting planner evaluations as received to ensure that any problems are rectifiedQualificationsThe individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.Bachelor's Degree preferredMinimum five (5) years of sales leadership experience in similar sized operation required, preferably in an upscale or lifestyle brand hotelMust have comprehensive knowledge of Deep knowledge of sales strategies, including transient, group, and negotiated corporate segments, catering sales, conference service and marketing management experience, guest relations and etiquetteStrong understanding of brand positioning, market trends, and competitive dynamics within the luxury lifestyle hotel space, all-inclusive a plusStrong financial acumen, including forecasting, budgeting, and analysis of sales performance metricsAdvanced negotiation skills, including contract management and pricing strategies aligned with brand and profitability objectivesProven team leader with a high level of energy and motivation with a proven track record of living the company's values
