At Sovos, we manage and scale the database infrastructure that powers tax compliance for more than 100,000 customers across 100+ countries. As a Senior Database Administrator, you'll be a hands‐on technical leader responsible for the performance, security, and availability of our enterprise database environments, keeping mission‐critical SaaS applications running at their best.
Serve as a subject matter expert for critical database technologies, leading resolution of complex incidents and performance issues across SQL Server environments.
Proactively monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning solutions to optimize query response times and system throughput.
Collaborate with software engineers and tech leads to review query designs and schema changes, ensuring efficiency and scalability prior to deployment.
Lead the implementation of patches, upgrades, and migrations with minimal downtime, including backup/recovery strategies, high‐availability setups, and disaster recovery testing.
Mentor and support junior DBAs and application teams, driving adoption of database best practices across the organization.
Leverage AI‐assisted tooling and automation to streamline monitoring, root cause analysis, and operational workflows.
Communicate database health, maintenance status, and potential risks clearly to both technical and non‐technical stakeholders.
Strong foundational knowledge in database systems, acquired through formal education or equivalent hands‐on experience.
You have hands‐on experience managing production database environments, resolving performance issues, and implementing tuning solutions. with deep expertise in performance tuning and troubleshooting.
Strong proficiency with SQL Server environments, with a deep understanding of database internals.
Fluent English, written and verbal.
Availability to attend the office once a week (Condesa, CDMX).
