This role is focused on a senior backend engineer who can architect, build, and operate scalable, highly available backend platforms and APIs.

Core Technical Skills

Backend Architecture & Distributed Systems

* Designing large-scale, high-availability backend systems * Microservices architecture * Event-driven architecture * API platform design * Scalability, reliability, and performance engineering

Programming Languages

* Elixir (mandatory) — 2+ years of production experience * Strong backend development experience (8+ years overall)

API Technologies

* REST APIs * GraphQL * gRPC * Ability to select the appropriate API paradigm based on requirements

Cloud & Infrastructure

* AWS (required) * Docker * Kubernetes * Production deployment, monitoring, and scaling

Data & Messaging

* PostgreSQL * Database performance optimization * Caching strategies * Kafka (hands-on experience at scale)

Observability & Reliability

* DataDog * Monitoring * Logging * Alerting * SLO-driven engineering

DevSecOps

* CI/CD pipelines * Automated testing * Security integration throughout SDLC * Infrastructure automation
