Eaton's ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Operations Manager - 2nd Shift. What you'll do:
The Operations Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day manufacturing operations to ensure safe, efficient, high-quality, and cost-effective production. This position provides leadership to production teams, drives continuous improvement, coordinates cross-functional support, and ensures that operational objectives are aligned with business goals and customer expectations. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Lead day-to-day operations in assigned production areas to meet safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost goals.
- Plan, organize and direct production activities to ensure that customer requirements and business objectives are achieved.
- Develop and implement standard operational plans, policies, procedures, and work to improve performance and consistency.
- Monitor key performance indicators, analyze operational results, identify gaps, and implement corrective actions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using manufacturing tools such as 5S, Kaizen, visual management, standard work, and waste reduction.
- Ensures compliance with company policies, safety standards, environmental requirements, and applicable regulatory guidelines.
- Lead, train, develop, and evaluate functional team members, supervisors, and production team members to strengthen accountability, capacity, and commitment.
- Coordinate with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Materials, Supply Chain, Human Resources and Finance to solve operational issues and support plant priorities.
- Manage workforce planning, staffing levels, overtime, training needs, and resource allocation to support production schedules.
- Support budget management by controlling labor, material usage, waste, overtime, express freight, and other operating expenses.
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, teamwork, discipline, urgency and continuous improvement throughout the operation.
- Prepare and communicate operational reports, performance updates, action plans, and escalation points to plant leadership.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in manufacturing operations, including experience leading engineers, supervisors, and production teams.
- Solid knowledge of production planning, lean manufacturing, quality systems, safety practices and cost control.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, solve complex problems, and promote sustainable performance improvements.
- Experience in managing operational metrics, budgets, staffing plans, and continuous improvement projects.
- Bilingual Spanish - English
Preferred Qualifications
- Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, APICS, PMP, or other relevant operational excellence certifications.
- Experience in a high-volume/low-variety and low-volume/high-variety manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, capacity planning, root cause analysis, and structured problem-solving methods.
- Experience leading transformation initiatives, cost reduction projects or productivity improvement programs.
