TrueML Products is looking for a high-energy DevOps Engineer I to join our Platform Operations team. This is a foundational role designed for a technologist who is actively forming their technical knowledge and is eager to embrace a broad set of challenges in a cloud-native environment.
Reporting to the DevOps Sr Manager, you will assist in the evolution of our internal developer platform and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) architecture. You will focus on achieving proficiency in our tech stack while executing tasks with precision and efficiency. The ideal candidate is a proactive learner who considers leveraging GenAI and AI code assistants second-nature for accelerating onboarding and completing well-defined tasks, but doesn’t rely on them as a substitute for solving problems.
At TrueML, you won't just be closing tickets; you will be helping to build self-service platforms and tools that reduce developer cognitive load and enable our teams to deploy at increased velocity. You will be an integral part of a team that thrives on solving complex distributed systems challenges and maintains an impact-focused mindset.
What You'll Do:
-
Build small to medium-sized infrastructure components using Terraform and AWS.
-
Maintain and debug CI/CD workflows (GitHub Actions, ArgoCD) to ensure reliable build-and-deploy cycles.
-
Learn to troubleshoot and resolve issues in containerized environments, including Kubernetes pods and EKS networking bottlenecks.
-
Use AI code assistants (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Claude) to accelerate onboarding and complete well-defined automation tasks.
-
Validate AI-generated code for correctness and style according to team standards.
-
Participate in the on-call rotation and assist in responding to system alerts.
-
Use logging and observability tools to find relevant information during troubleshooting.
-
Take responsibility for testing and documenting your code, ensuring bugs are fixed across dev, staging, and production environments.
-
Actively participate in team ceremonies, including sprint planning and daily standups.
-
Communicate the status of ongoing projects and clearly describe implementation details to the broader team.
-
Partner with senior engineers to understand how your work impacts customers and helps the business scale.
Who You Are:
-
You possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
-
You have 1–2 years of relevant experience in DevOps, SRE, or Software Engineering.
-
You are familiar with at least one programming language (Python, Go, or Bash) and basic Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) practices.
-
You have general knowledge of cloud engineering (AWS) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
-
You demonstrate a commitment to self-improvement and the "grit" necessary to follow through on challenging new tasks.
