Key Responsibilities:

• Support interdisciplinary projects involving large numbers of developers and consultants,

• while working very tightly with our internal IT Services team

• Identify automation opportunities and drive automation to increase database, data stores

• and data pipelines performance and value-add

• Drive and champion database best practices, their knowledge management and facilitate training to platform teams on database technologies and data integration methodologies

• Facilitate effective communication with client project stakeholders regarding project status and recommendations.

• Actively participate in accurate planning and estimation efforts, utilizing project methods and tools.

• Proficiently gather requirements and organize/present developed features for clients.

• Execute complex activities within the current methodology and quality standards, showcasing success across diverse engagements.

• Engage in agile software development, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, team retrospectives, and other governance activities.

• Independently drive project delivery within defined architecture, demonstrating autonomy and accountability in all stages from conceptualization to deployment.

• Read and write Cloud Development Kit (CDK) code in Python to support infrastructure deployment.

Minimum Qualifications:

• A minimum of 5+ years of experience/expertise in the following areas specified below*:

  • SQL Database

  • SQL RDS

  • Nice to have postgresql

• Build database solutions of high availability and quality align to internal stakeholder requirements

• Configure, maintain, optimize databases and ensure data access and infrastructure controls are in place to safeguard against data losses and data breaches

• Assist developers in identifying and correcting database-related issues. Support platform owners in driving efficiency of database procedures for responsible business applications

• Determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures and standards

• Manage and monitor DB performance, database health and security posture

• Perform regular database maintenance, patches, data quality checks and troubleshooting activities

• Experience in Agile software development methodologies.

• Proficiency in the English language.

• Strong understanding of MS SQL Server architecture and administration.

• Good understanding of AWS services, specifically EC2 and RDS.

• Good understanding of related Microsoft technologies, such as Active Directory.

• Location preference for candidates based in South and Central America.

Additional Experience Desired:

• Unit Testing

• Working in the AWS Cloud 

Qualifications:

• Bachelors or masters degree in software engineering, Computer Science, Information

• Technology, or related quantitative field

• AWS Certified: AWS Database Specialty

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate

• 5+ years of relevant working experience, preferably in the financial industry

• Practical experience of at least one common Enterprise Agile Framework e.g., Kanban, AFe, SCRUM, etc.

• Practical experience with Database Access Management and Database Security (DB Hardening, DB Audit, DB Policies, etc.)

• Practical experience with MS SQL Server database administration including management

• of 

• Always On Availability 

• Practical experience MS SQL Server performance optimization
