Senior iOS Developer

Location: 100% Remote from Mexico | Employment Type: Full-time

About the Role

We are looking for a passionate and experienced iOS developer to join our innovative tech company in the mobile development space. In this role, you will contribute to designing, building, and shipping high-quality features across our iOS app, leading technical design discussions, and mentoring other engineers.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship high-quality features across our iOS app, working with Swift, SwiftUI, and UIKit in a mixed codebase.
• Lead technical design discussions and drive architectural decisions for new and existing features.
• Evaluate and apply AI capabilities where they add real value, such as on-device machine learning features, intelligent personalization, or AI-assisted user experiences.
• Use AI-powered developer tools (such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, or similar) to accelerate development, improve code quality, and support code review.
• Mentor mid-level and junior engineers through code reviews, pairing, and technical guidance.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, memory issues, and technical debt.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to define and deliver features.
• Establish and enforce best practices around testing, CI/CD, and code quality.
• Participate in planning, estimation, and technical roadmap discussions.
• Stay current with iOS platform changes and evaluate their impact on the app.

Requirements

• 5 years of professional iOS development experience.
• Strong expertise in Swift, with deep working knowledge of both SwiftUI and UIKit.
• Proven experience working in a mixed Swift/UIKit codebase, including modernizing legacy UIKit components with SwiftUI where appropriate.
• Hands-on experience applying AI or machine learning in a mobile context, such as Core ML, Vision, Natural Language, or integrating third-party AI/ML APIs into an app.
• Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools in your day-to-day workflow, and the ability to speak to how they've improved your productivity or code quality.
• Solid understanding of iOS architecture patterns (MVVM, MVC, VIPER, or similar) and when to apply them.
• Experience with concurrency (GCD, Operation Queues, and/or async/await).
• Strong grasp of memory management, performance profiling (Instruments), and debugging complex issues.
• Experience with unit testing, UI testing, and CI/CD pipelines for mobile.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs, networking layers, and third-party SDK integration.
• Experience with version control (Git) and collaborative development workflows.
• Excellent communication skills and comfort working in a fully remote, asynchronous environment.
• Prior experience mentoring engineers or leading technical initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications (if any)

• Experience shipping a feature that used generative AI, LLM-based APIs, or conversational interfaces.
• Familiarity with App Store submission processes and release management.
• Experience with modular architecture or multi-module app setups.
• Exposure to accessibility (VoiceOver, Dynamic Type) best practices.
