Role DescriptionThis full-time, on-site Import Coordinator role oversees end-to-end import activities across ground, air, and ocean freight, ensuring timely and compliant movement of goods. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and reviewing import documentation, coordinating with customs brokers, carriers, and freight forwarders, and monitoring shipment status to resolve delays or issues before they impact the business. The role tracks purchase orders with international suppliers — including a new, larger and heavier product line currently being onboarded — maintains accurate records in the internal ERP system, and supports continuous improvement of import procedures and cost efficiency, including comparing routes and carriers to optimize cost and transit time. The Import Coordinator also collaborates with purchasing, warehouse, and finance teams to align delivery schedules, inventory needs, and supplier payments. Responsibilities
• Track and follow up on purchase orders with international suppliers, including new larger/heavier equipment lines
• Coordinate with customs brokers: send documentation, follow up on clearance processes, resolve questions
• Monitor every shipment from origin to delivery across ground, air, and ocean freight; proactively resolve delays
• Compare and execute routing and carrier decisions to optimize cost and transit time
• Maintain import history records in the ERP system to identify patterns and savings opportunities
• Coordinate with Finance on supplier payments and cash flow forecasting tied to import schedules
• Respond to internal stakeholder inquiries (sales, warehouse) on import status Qualifications
• Strong knowledge of Mexican import processes and regulations, including experience working with customs brokers
• Experience across ground, air, and ocean freight — including coordination with carriers and freight forwarders for ocean shipments
• Strong English proficiency, spoken and written — required for direct communication with international suppliers
• Excellent communication and organizational skills to manage internal stakeholders and external partners
• Ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously with strong attention to detail
• Proficiency with spreadsheets and ERP/TMS systems; comfortable with basic data reporting
• 2-4 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or international trade
• Relevant technical degree or bachelor's degree in logistics, international business, or related field
