We’re Hiring | Systems Engineer OMRON Robotics and Safety Technologies Are you a Systems Engineer who enjoys working at the intersection of hardware, software, electronics, mechanics, and robotics? At OMRON Robotics and Safety Technologies, we’re looking for a Systems Engineer to contribute to the development, integration, verification, and validation of advanced robotics products and solutions. This is a product engineering role focused on robotics systems, hardware/software integration, verification and validation, and automated testing. It is not an IT infrastructure, network, cloud, or enterprise systems position. You’ll work closely with electrical, mechanical, software, manufacturing, service, project management, and product teams to help bring complex robotics technologies from architecture and development through comprehensive system-level validation. What you’ll do
• Contribute to new product architecture across mechanical, electrical, firmware, and software systems.
• Develop and coordinate verification and validation strategies using V-model methodology, ensuring requirement traceability and comprehensive test coverage.
• Develop, implement, and improve automated test systems for robotics hardware and software.
• Create detailed test plans, test cases, and scripts for functional, stress, performance, subsystem, and system-level testing.
• Execute tests, analyze results, identify defects, perform root cause analysis, and communicate technical findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot and debug robotics platforms at system, subsystem, hardware, and software levels.
• Develop automated scripts and tools to improve test infrastructure and system-level test coverage.
• Support prototypes, proof-of-concept builds, and evaluation of new hardware and software technologies.
• Identify technical risks and support data-driven engineering decisions using test data, DFMEA, DOE, and other engineering methodologies. What we’re looking for
• 3+ years of experience in Systems Engineering, testing, or deployment of robotics or other complex hardware/software systems.
• Strong hands-on experience with hardware and software testing, system integration, troubleshooting, verification, and validation.
• Engineering background in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Software Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
Experience developing scripts and automated test infrastructure.
• Programming experience with C++ or C#, Python or equivalent scripting languages.
• Experience working in Linux environments.
• Experience with robotics technologies such as Robot Operating System (ROS), Gazebo, PLC programming, HIL testing, MATLAB, Simulink, or kinematic modeling is highly valued.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, technical documentation, and communication skills.
Ability to work across multidisciplinary engineering teams and take ownership of technical issues through resolution.
