Our client, a prominent construction company operating in Puebla, Puebla , is seeking a skilled and experienced Jefe de Obra (Edificación) . This role is central to the successful execution of diverse building projects, from residential complexes to commercial structures. The candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of construction sites, ensuring adherence to project schedules, quality standards, and safety protocols. We are looking for a proactive leader with a strong technical background in civil engineering and construction management, capable of making critical decisions on-site and fostering a collaborative environment among subcontractors and internal teams. This position offers the chance to manage significant projects within the vibrant city of Puebla and contribute to its urban development.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee all on-site construction activities for building projects in Puebla , managing timelines and resources effectively.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, suppliers, and site labor to ensure work progresses according to the construction plan and specifications.
- Implement and enforce stringent health and safety regulations on the construction site, conducting regular safety audits.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential delays or issues, and implement corrective actions to keep the project on schedule and budget.
- Manage the procurement and delivery of construction materials and equipment, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Conduct quality inspections at various stages of construction to ensure compliance with architectural and engineering designs.
- Maintain detailed daily logs and progress reports, documenting site activities, issues, and resolutions for management review.
- Liaise with the project manager, architects, engineers, and clients to ensure seamless project communication and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Ensure all work complies with local building codes and regulations in Puebla, Puebla .
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in site management and construction supervision, with a focus on building construction.
- Demonstrated experience managing construction projects in urban environments, preferably in Puebla .
- Strong knowledge of construction techniques, materials, building codes, and safety standards.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Procore) and basic CAD viewing.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills in Spanish.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
