Job Description Senior Associate, Sourcing About Global Procurement at Thomson Reuters:

Global Procurement manages and optimizes Thomson Reuters' third-party spend. Our mission is to collaborate with stakeholders to acquire the right goods and services at the best value while managing risks effectively to drive corporate objectives. We integrate and manage a highly complex network of products, services, processes, technologies, and suppliers across all Thomson Reuters locations worldwide.

Reporting to the Director of Business Services Sourcing, Mexico, the Senior Associate, Sourcing will play a key role in partnering with Non-IT category stakeholders to lead sourcing activities. The goal is to reduce costs, manage risk, and improve the quality of goods and services. The role requires close collaboration with key stakeholders to support business functions in delivering programs aligned with budgets and objectives. Categories in scope include all Non-IT sub-categories, such as Real Estate, HR, Marketing, and Print.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development of category plans and sourcing strategies, focusing on a portfolio of key initiatives across the company.
  • Deliver key procurement initiatives that achieve the best value while managing acceptable levels of risk.
  • Contribute to the annual pipeline of procurement initiatives, aligning with the financial planning process.
  • Drive initiatives aimed at optimizing costs, improving user experience, increasing transparency and contract compliance, and enhancing efficiencies.
  • Lead RFx initiatives, including supplier selection, contract drafting, and negotiations.
  • Support the implementation and enhancement of sourcing methodologies to provide greater visibility and control over sourcing initiatives.
  • Build and nurture collaborative relationships with procurement teams and stakeholders by understanding their requirements and priorities, providing well-rounded advice for spend decisions based on best practices.
  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders and management on the status of projects and initiatives.
  • Lead or support the contracting process, from drafting to execution, negotiating contracts using best-in-class practices and adhering to organizational contracting guidelines to reduce risk.
  • Extend the influence of Procurement by fostering strong relationships within project teams, customer groups, and peer groups.
Required Qualifications

You are an ideal fit for the Senior Associate, Sourcing role if your experience includes:

  • Credible knowledge and expertise across a wide range of Non-IT spend categories, with significant experience successfully developing and negotiating agreements ranging in value from $50K to $500K across multiple geographies.
  • 3-5 years of applicable experience across the Professional Services Procurement value chain, including operations and program management, with a sound understanding of applicable laws and regulations.
  • Excellent external and internal relationship management skills.
  • Experienced sourcing practitioner with deal architecture and negotiation skills, a strong understanding of best-practice sourcing methodology, and a demonstrated track record of working ethically to achieve excellent outcomes.
  • Strong experience managing the contracting process from drafting to execution, negotiating contracts by applying best-in-class practices.
  • Expert analytical skills, with the ability to develop coherent, high-quality sourcing collateral, including business cases, contract summaries, and RFx materials.
  • Experience with Source-to-Pay tools such as Ariba or Fieldglass.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
