Your Role

As a Senior API Backend Developer, you will play a key role in designing, building, and evolving robust, scalable, and secure backend services using Python FastAPI. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions, drive technical excellence, and contribute to architectural decisions that support long-term business and client needs.




  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful APIs using Python FastAPI.




  • Lead the design of backend architectures and contribute to technical decisions that ensure performance, maintainability, and scalability.




  • Collaborate with frontend developers, product teams, and other stakeholders to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.




  • Optimize applications for maximum speed, reliability, and scalability while ensuring security and data protection best practices.




  • Review code, enforce engineering standards, and mentor other developers to promote high-quality, maintainable code.




  • Identify system bottlenecks, troubleshoot complex issues, and drive performance and reliability improvements.




  • Participate in and influence the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, solution design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.




  • Promote best practices in API design, testing, observability, and CI/CD automation.




  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and backend engineering practices, and proactively recommend improvements where relevant.




Who You Are


  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in backend development, with strong expertise in Python and solid hands-on experience with FastAPI.




  • Strong understanding of RESTful API design principles, microservices architecture, and distributed systems concepts.




  • Proven experience designing scalable and maintainable backend systems in production environments.




  • Proficient in SQL and/or NoSQL database design, optimization, and performance tuning.




  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing strategies, and modern DevOps practices.




  • Solid understanding of application security, authentication/authorization mechanisms, and secure coding practices.




  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical challenges and propose pragmatic solutions.




  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional, collaborative environments and to guide technical discussions.
