The Night Shift Health and Safety Coordinator will provide authoritative guidance and on‑site support to construction and project teams during nighttime operations. The role ensures full compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and maintains a safe working environment across all activities performed during the night shift.
Key responsibilities include:
- Deliver expert support to project and construction teams, with particular focus on nighttime legal compliance, including risk assessments, audits, and responses to labor authority inspections.
- Lead and support safety committee workstreams, incident investigations, contingency planning, and job‑position adaptations required to meet safety standards during night operations.
- Plan, implement, and oversee strategic HS&E work systems for night‑shift activities, recommending processes aligned with client expectations and regulatory guidelines.
- Support and collaborate with the existing site safety team to ensure accurate and timely reporting of Health and Safety statistics across night-shift operations.
- Support business changes through effective change‑management processes in a fast‑paced, after‑hours environment.
- Implement, monitor, and continuously improve the company’s global safety policies, ensuring alignment with local legislation applicable to nighttime construction work.
- Maintain and develop personal professional competence to meet evolving client and business expectations.
- Provide flexibility to manage and deliver safety oversight for projects across the region during night-shift hours.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a field related to HS&E.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience.
- Certified Health and Safety Professional with specialized training in occupational health and safety, in accordance with Mexican regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to understand complex issues and adapt methodologies to meet client or business needs, preferably in environments with strict HS&E requirements.
- Significant experience in Health and Safety roles within industrial and/or construction environments.
- Flexibility to work during night shifts while effectively managing personal workload and priorities.
- Proven ability to lead and manage HS&E teams, including night-shift personnel.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with a results‑driven and resilient attitude.
- Ability to communicate effectively across all seniority levels within large organizations.
- Strong knowledge of Mexican Health and Safety legislation.
- Ability to quickly build credibility and support change initiatives through effective influencing strategies.
- Fluent in Spanish; intermediate English or above is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills (essential).
- Effective planning and organizational skills to meet deadlines (essential).
- Proficiency in IT tools for generating reports and documentation.
