The Government Affairs Champ will support the planning, execution, and tracking of strategic activities within Ford of Mexico’s Government Affairs function. Over the 12-month Ford Champs Program, university students gain hands‑on, career‑specific experience, explore different business areas, strengthen their professional capabilities, and prepare for future full‑time opportunities at Ford.

In this role, the Champ will follow up on and manage operational and regulatory processes related to REPUVE (the Public Vehicle Registry), maintain databases of institutional authorities, track regulatory and economic trends, and support the integration of artificial intelligence and data‑driven solutions for the department. The role also includes creating executive presentations and digital materials, translating documents, and coordinating institutional engagements.

What you'll do...

  • AI & Innovation Initiatives: Collaborate on the adoption and development of AI tools for Government Affairs projects (e.g., REPUVE AI assistant, automotive Chinese brands reporting, automated summaries, and presentation design).

  • Governance & Documentation: Maintain orderly document filing, tracking systems, and assist in coordinating agendas and schedules for the Government Affairs team.

  • Data Analysis & Economic Statistics: Track, analyze, and maintain up‑to‑date data on the automotive industry, foreign trade, economic indicators, and internal metrics to support executive decision‑making.

  • Executive Materials & Content Creation: Develop high‑impact executive presentations, briefing notes, and supporting visual materials for internal leadership and external stakeholder meetings.

  • Administrative & Institutional Support: Support administrative procedures and formal requirements before federal, state, and municipal government entities, as well as requests related to INEGI.

  • Intelligence & Market Monitoring: Research, monitor, and summarize domestic and international news, regulatory changes, and public policy developments relevant to the automotive sector and Ford.

  • REPUVE Processes & Tracking: Track, manage, and coordinate procedures, reports, and clearances related to REPUVE (Public Vehicle Registry) in close collaboration with internal skill teams.

  • Database & Stakeholder Management: Build, update, and maintain a structured database of federal, state, and municipal authorities, business associations, and industry chambers.

  • Bilingual Communications & Translations: Translate official documents, presentations, and correspondence between English and Spanish.

  • Cross‑functional Collaboration: Partner closely with internal departments (Legal, Communications/PR, Sales, Customs, Manufacturing, Environmental Office, Regulatory Compliance) on cross‑functional initiatives

You'll have...

  • Education: Currently enrolled in the final semesters of a bachelor’s degree program in international relations, political science, public administration, economics, law, foreign trade, international business, business administration, or a related field—or equivalent practical experience.

  • Experience: This is an early‑career student opportunity; relevant coursework, projects, or practical experience are welcome.

  • Languages: Strong working proficiency in both English and Spanish, including the ability to read, write, speak, and summarize information in both languages.

  • Research and analysis: Ability to find, organize, and interpret information such as economic data, industry indicators, and regulatory documents, then communicate k
