Supply Chain Manager – Manufacturing Operations
We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to build, lead, and strengthen the supply chain organization within a growing manufacturing operation.
This position requires a leader who combines strong operational expertise with the ability to create structure from the ground up. The ideal candidate will have previous experience supporting greenfield operations, plant start-ups, major expansions, or supply chain transformations, with direct involvement in establishing teams, processes, policies, KPIs, and operating standards.
A strong command of SAP within a manufacturing and supply chain environment is essential for this role.
Required Experience
- 10+ years of progressive Supply Chain experience within manufacturing, including leadership responsibility.
- Demonstrated experience leading multiple Supply Chain disciplines such as planning, materials, logistics, warehousing, procurement, and customer fulfillment.
- Advanced hands-on knowledge of SAP in a manufacturing environment is required.
- Strong understanding of SAP-based MRP, materials management, production planning, inventory, purchasing, and warehouse processes.
- Previous experience in a greenfield, plant start-up, major expansion, or significant operational transformation is highly preferred.
- Proven experience building or restructuring Supply Chain teams and developing processes, policies, procedures, and KPIs from the ground up.
- Automotive, Tier 1/Tier 2, or other high-volume manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of SIOP/S&OP, MRP/MPS, inventory management, production planning, logistics, and material flow.
- Fluent or advanced English and Spanish.
- Lean Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement experience.
- APICS/ASCM or related Supply Chain certification is a plus.
What We’re Looking For
We are particularly interested in a builder, not only an administrator of established processes. The successful candidate should be comfortable entering an environment where some structures still need to be created, standardized, or strengthened.
The right profile will bring a combination of strong SAP expertise, greenfield/start-up experience, operational discipline, people leadership, and the ability to translate Supply Chain strategy into practical processes and policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the overall Supply Chain function, including materials planning, production planning, procurement, inventory control, warehousing, logistics, and customer fulfillment.
- Build and develop the Supply Chain organization, including defining roles, responsibilities, organizational structure, capabilities, and performance expectations.
- Establish and standardize Supply Chain policies, procedures, workflows, governance, and KPIs to support a scalable manufacturing operation.
- Play a key leadership role in greenfield, plant start-up, expansion, or operational transformation activities.
- Serve as a functional leader for SAP-driven Supply Chain processes, ensuring effective utilization of the system across planning, materials, inventory, procurement, and warehouse operations.
- Ensure master data, planning parameters, inventory controls, and transactional discipline within SAP support accurate and reliable operations.
- Develop robust MRP, production planning, capacity planning, and material availability processes.
- Establish inventory strategies and targets to improve turns, reduce excess and obsolete inventory, and maintain material availability.
- Develop and strengthen warehouse and material-flow processes, from inbound receipt through production supply and finished-goods shipment.
- Lead the SIOP/S&OP process, connecting customer demand, capacity, inventory, material availability, and production requirements.
- Partner closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Finance, Sales, and other functions during new product introductions, launches, and production ramp-ups.
- Develop dashboards and performance indicators covering areas such as inventory, delivery, planning accuracy, premium freight, material shortages, supplier performance, and warehouse efficiency.
- Identify supply chain risks and implement preventive and corrective actions.
- Lead continuous improvement and cost-reduction in
