This role serves as a key liaison between business stakeholders, internal technical teams, external EDI trading partners, and third-party managed service providers, including IBM Sterling.

The Senior IT Business Systems Analyst will own the full lifecycle of EDI onboarding, from business requirements gathering and functional specification design through technical mapping, connectivity, comprehensive testing, production cutover, and post-launch support.

The ideal candidate combines deep hands-on SAP SD / Order-to-Cash expertise with strong EDI integration knowledge and the ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions within a global, cross-functional environment.

  • Collaborate with functional teams across Materials Management (MM), Production Planning (PP), and Finance/Controlling (FI/CO) to ensure seamless integration across business processes.
  • Lead the onboarding of new EDI trading partners, including customers, suppliers, and 3PL providers, while maintaining existing partner profiles.
  • Gather and document partner-specific EDI requirements, business rules, and cross-reference tables and translate business needs into detailed technical mapping specifications.
  • Serve as the technical point of contact with IBM Sterling, coordinating connectivity setup including AS2, SFTP, and VAN, as well as schema definitions and message translation mappings.
  • Support and enhance ANSI X12 and EDIFACT transaction sets, including 850/ORDERS, 855/ORDRSP, 856/DESADV, 810/INVOIC, 820/REMADV, and 997/CONTRL.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize SAP IDoc processing, including inbound/outbound interfaces, partner profiles (WE20), process codes, and message control (NACE).
  • Lead end-to-end systems integration testing (SIT), partner-facing user acceptance testing (UAT), and simulation runs between SAP ECC, IBM Sterling, and trading partner test environments.
  • Develop cutover plans and checklists, manage production deployments and parallel runs, and provide hypercare support following go-live.
  • Provide advanced Tier-3 troubleshooting for failed IDocs, mapping discrepancies, transmission failures, and syntax errors, ensuring timely resolution within established SLA targets.
  • Maintain functional specifications, interface catalogues, mapping cross-references, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and end-user training materials.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and service providers to manage deliverables, project milestones, and quality standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement across SAP OTC and EDI processes and integrations.
