About the role

We are looking for a strong Senior Android Engineer who is used to taking on and driving initiatives and bringing new ideas—someone who holds their code to high standards and who is not afraid to give feedback on the product. 

Customer focus and comfortability with cross-functional partnerships is a huge plus. You should be able to lead the teams’ technology stack to ensure we’re building more robust, scalable, and operable systems. Our ideal candidate is also a technical leader who is passionate about mentorship and growing the potential of others. 

We embrace agile software development practices, and believe deeply in building teams composed of all skills needed to deliver value (SDE, PM, SDM, SQE, Design, DE, etc).

We have a couple teams working to give people the power to manage and ingest lots of media and data. Looking for an engineer that can help lead the teams’ technology stacks to ensure we’re building the more robust, scalable, and affordable systems. Our ideal candidate is also a technical leader who has a real passion for mentoring and growing the potential of others. 

Work on the latest Android technologies and architectural patterns to develop world-class mobile applications.

Contribute to outstanding full-stack mobile application development from concept to launch

Implement client-side features and server APIs and services to support planned mobile functionality

Collaborate with an agile cross-team of developers, testers, designers & program managers to build features that engage our users and understand their outstanding expectations

Consistently deliver performant, testable, scalable, highly-readable code using OO best practices

This role has been categorized as a teleworker position. Teleworkers do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and instead work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. Employees may live anywhere in Mexico, with availability to travel to Mexico City, as we recommend attendance at occasional office events.

In addition to a competitive base salary and benefits, this position is also eligible for bonuses depending on factors such as experience, performance and location.

Este rol ha sido categorizado como un puesto de teletrabajador. Los teletrabajadores no cuentan con un lugar de trabajo de oficina corporativa permanente y, en cambio, trabajan desde un lugar físico de su elección, el cual debe ser identificado ante la Empresa. Who you are

BS/MS in Computer Science (or equivalent experience) and 6+ yrs of experience

4+ years of Android experience (Strong knowledge of Java and Kotlin)

Ability to mentor and coach Junior and Senior developers

Ability to drive cross-team design and framework decisions 

Deep JavaScript knowledge and hands on experience with React and Redux

GraphQL, Computer Graphics, 3.js, React-3-Fiber

Strong knowledge of HTTP basics. Caching, response codes, headers, cookies, sessions.

Strong CSS knowledge (Not necessary to have every rule memorized, but enough to be able to layout a page, use and customize component libraries, and discuss media queries, flex vs grid, etc.)

Team leadership and mentoring skills (This is a core expectation for a Principal level position)

Ability to include and work closely with other engineers and other disciplines, most notably individuals in BE roles, product, and design.

Experience delivering quality code on a deadline

Strong experience profiling for optimizing performance and resource utilization.

The ability to work well with product management, design, services to shape and define products

Experience with Agile development processes

The ability to work well in a team setting

Fluent in English and Spanish (both written and spoken).

Must be authorized to work in Mexico.

Sólidos conocimientos de los conceptos básicos de HTTP. Almacenamiento en caché, códigos de respuesta, encabezados, cookies, sesiones.

Sólidos conocimientos de CSS (no es necesario tener todas las reglas memorizadas, pero es suficiente para poder diseñar una página, usar y personalizar bibliotecas de componentes y discutir consultas de medios, flex vs grid, etc.)

Liderazgo de equipo y habilidades de tutoría (esta es una expectativa fundamental para un puesto de nivel de director)

Capacidad para incluir y trabajar en estrecha colaboración con otros ingenieros y otras disciplinas, sobre todo personas en funciones, productos y diseños de BE.

Experiencia entregando código de calidad en una fecha límite

Sólidos perfiles de experiencia para optimizar el rendimiento y la utilización de recursos.

La capacidad de trabajar bien con la gestión de productos, el diseño y los servicios para dar forma y definir productos.

Experiencia con procesos ágiles de desarrollo.
