Position Summary
This role will lead the financial planning and reporting agenda of the market, bringing key information to different stakeholders of the organization, providing meaningful insights to the leadership team, and contributing to the commercial plans and projects. The Commercial Finance Manager will ensure that accurate and timely information is available as required to support business decisions. This role provides unique insights to business needs and possible solutions to problems through the analysis of the company’s financial reports.
To support the marketing and commercial roles, with the necessary analysis and high-quality information to ensure the best decisions are taken for the business. This position will be the business partner for the commercial teams contributing with valuable information based on previous analysis of the investment (measurement and evaluation process) and market information. This role will monitor the brand performance and will be able to explain the results of the brands. This position will seize the business opportunities identified with the commercial team.
Job Description
Provides high quality market information to clearly understand performance and opportunities and drive business decisions and/or long-term strategic initiatives. Lead the preparation of the 3-year plan, Budget and Latest Estimates by collecting, validating, and analyzing local data that will derive in the market financial plans; challenging the Marketing and Commercial teams to ensure a robust and stretching plan. Deliver the monthly/annual management accounts for the market, ensuring integrity and understanding behind the numbers to allow business decisions to be made based on complete and accurate information. Highlight and explain any variances to the local, regional, and central teams. Creates and Seizes Business Opportunities: Making key content and operational contributions to formulation, preparation of negotiations with key clients or for key initiatives of the brands. Monitors and ensures the key brands performance supported by analysis, combining market and company insights. Create an M&E (Measurement and Evaluation) process within Edrington Mexico, influencing all the commercial areas to ensure that 80% of the activities can be measured obtaining insights to capitalize all possible learning. Leads the business performance management process / Measurement and Evaluation of all investment done through A&P and Trade Investment to ensure business growth and capture opportunities. Support the A&P and Commercial budget process and control, by ensuring execution is in line with the strategy proposed. Together with the Commercial heads (market manager, trade marketing and marketing managers) develops tactical actions to beat the competition. Manages commercial risks & opportunities versus plan. Be an effective business partner for Commercial providing high level analysis and driving client decisions and growth. Support the Financial Planning process with insights by channel, pricing, size and brand family across various geographies/markets. Build and lead the evolution and deployment of a consistent Customer and Channel P&L (depending on the market and information available) while coaching team members on the adoption of the financial mindset necessary.
Job Description
Develop customized analysis and reporting tools for short term projects. Analyze weekly and/or monthly reports to provide insights to management team, such as pricing opportunities in key accounts to monitor brand and main competitors. Analyze and report trends related to market share by category. Conduct analysis on promotional and pricing activity and deliver insights to the Marketing and Commercial teams to maximize trade spend. Lead the Measurement and Evaluation Agenda through the key stakeholders such as Marketing, Trademarking and Commercial teams, being responsible of the pre and post evaluations of the main investments and gathering all key KPIs set depending on the nature of the activity. To maintain updated the M&E library so all the business acumen can be used in Budget and LEs. Analyze the performance of new product, promotions, and special products for the management team. Develop and update value chains for SKUs
Skills and Experience
BA/BS Degree or equivalent experience, preferably in Business. Minimum 8 years of professional experience in a finance role with heavy use of financial systems and leading Financial Planning and Analysis agenda in the organization. Experience using large ERP systems SAP preferred. Experience in the Spirits industry preferred. Strong attention to details and ability to go deeper into calculations while also explain to senior members what is happening according to numbers. Ability to analyze and identify key trends in financial information. Strong analytical, quantitative, problem solving, and organizational skills; attention to detail; and ability to coordinate multiple tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines. Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Able to proactively work with multiple departments of the company and drive results and accomplish goals. Strong communication skills & business acumen • Able to work independently while being a team player.
