Location: Delta, B.C

In this dynamic, fast-paced environment, the Production Planner is responsible for creating and maintaining an up-to-date Master Production Schedule. Reporting to the Manager, Inventory & Production Planning, this position acts as a primary point of contact for production control related enquiries, communicating with various internal stakeholders on a daily basis. The Production Planner proactively resolves problems/discrepancies, and performs data analysis, identifies trends, and presents findings and information.

Duties and Responsibilities

Maintain professionalism and act in a manner consistent with FPI mission and guiding principles Follow all organizational Health & Safety programs; actively participate in Health & Safety training with the purpose of gaining knowledge and understanding Contribute to a positive work environment focusing on Lean and continuous improvement initiatives Work with the Production Control Team and Manager, Inventory & Production Planning to create and maintain an up-to-date Master Production Schedule (MPS) Initiate the release of work orders to the shop floor based upon Master Production Schedule requirements Conduct daily audit/review of reports, work orders and plans within ERP system (Epicor) Perform routine daily and monthly MRP uploads Coordinate production plans with Purchasing to ensure adequate material resource levels Maintain schedule metrics, including manpower & resource requirements Conduct daily sales review of units and accessories, with an emphasis on sequencing and mixes Work within and maintain Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) spreadsheet and Access database Process & coordinate engineering change notices (ECN) Work with Manufacturing, Product Management, and other various departments to support the New Product Introduction (NPI) process Collaborate with Warranty, Shipping and other various departments to coordinate the shipment of replacement parts through distribution Review and maintain safety stock levels and back order scheduling Assist in the coordination and problem solving of inventory issues, including negative inventory correction Investigate and remedy parts shortages Identify trends and perform Ad-hoc reporting as needed, including analysis and presentation of findings Recognize problems/discrepancies and proactively initiate corrective actions Respond to MRP, work order, production schedule, and other production control related enquiries by communicating with Supervisors, Charge hands, Purchasing, Shipping, Receiving and other various departments on a daily basis Support team members in work order releasing and shop packing as needed Other related duties as required

Abilities/Skills/Knowledge

Thorough understanding of core supply chain fundamentals (ie. MRP, safety stock calculations, forecasting, bill of materials, and inventory concepts) Sound decision making skills Strong organizational skills; able to prioritize and effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously in order to meet deadlines Excellent communication skills (written/verbal) in English Proactive with a focus on preventive measures Demonstrated attention to detail and problem solving skills Advanced knowledge of a variety of programs, including Microsoft Office 365 (especially Excel & Access), and ERP systems Ability to work both independently and within a high performing, multi-faceted team

Education/Training

Post-secondary education in Supply Chain/Operations/Business Management or a related field is an asset

Experience

5+ years of experience in a similar role working in a production control environment Previous experience in manufacturing
