Summary

The Procurement Category Manager will manage Procurement Source-to-Contract elements of indirect spend for the Simplot Mexico plants. They will establish a long-term category plan, from 1 to 3 years, for moderately sized spend categories to drive value across the enterprise for the assigned spend area. This strategy development work is done in collaboration with various stakeholders from business units across the enterprise. Category strategies include spend analysis/mapping, external market analysis, supplier management, and establishment of a multi-year project portfolio. They will also lead sourcing projects based on category strategy and projects on demand from respective stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Category Management - Develop category plans and project portfolios for key-spend areas, including moderately sized construction, engineering and operations projects, with a medium to high level of importance and complexity. Build strong relationships with stakeholders to develop, prioritize and execute a project portfolio. Strategic Sourcing - Lead strategic sourcing projects including RFI, RFP, RFQ, and contract development, for Capex and Sustaining Capital Projects. Contract Management – Perform vendor pre-qualification and negotiate, draft, execute and manage buy contracts. Vendor Management – Perform supplier segmentation, develop new suppliers, manage strategic relationships with existing suppliers, drive performance improvement and mitigate risk to ensure service delivery, quality, costs, and supply commitments. Analyze indirect spend of company operations. Partner with stakeholders to mitigate risks and develop contingency plans to ensure material supply.

Typical Education

Bachelor’s Degree - Business Management, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, International Trade, Industrial Engineering, and Business Administration.

Relevant Experience

3 years of experience in relevant categories such as procurement, global supply chain management, construction, engineering, and capital projects. 3 years of experience in category management activities and supplier sourcing.
